I just moved to New Zealand in October of 2010 and am now a housewife. At first, my favorite recipes from the USA didn't translate very well, but I am getting better and finding new recipes.

Roast chicken, slow cooker meats/stews
My cooking triumphs
Once I made Apple Cider Panna Cotta for my family's Thanksgiving. It was a huge hit and they looked very elegant.
My cooking tragedies
After moving to New Zealand, I was making a banana bread to bring to a friend's house, where I was to have dinner. The ovens are weird here, and I failed to realize the oven was set to "grill", and halfway through the baking time, I smelled burning: The top of the loaf was black and the rest of the loaf was uncooked!!! I felt to upset over the incident and how everything I was cooking or baking in New Zealand failed, and I cried. My poor husband tried to make me feel better, so we ended up throwing the loaf of burnt bread as hard as we could of of our back deck. There is something so cathartic about chucking food!

Buffalo Chicken Wing Sauce
Yum!!! We can't get Buffalo wings nor wing sauce here in New Zealand, so it was nice to be able to make them ourselves! My husband went bonkers for them. Great recipe!

Funnel Cakes
So delicious! I have been lining in New Zealand for the past 4 years and have not encountered a funnel cake since arriving. It was so nice to make them at home today, and eating them brought back so many memories of county fairs and carnivals I used to go to as a kid! Thank you for sharing your recipe :) I think next time I will halve it, though, as we got 8 cakes out of this recipe - way too many for just my husband and I to reasonably eat. I froze the leftovers for a rainy day :)

Mongolian Beef and Spring Onions
Very, very good, but I should have read the reviews before making it! It was waaaaay too sweet. I will be making this dish again, but reducing the sugar quite a bit.
