Turkey Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2012
I made this recipe tonight and it was very good! I did add peas and more seasoning, a lot more garlic, some red pepper flakes, and paprika. It turned out very good. I would definitely make this again.

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2012
This recipe was wonderful! I made it tonight for guests and everyone loved them. I omitted the hot sauce (didn't have any) and didn't use garlic salt, just garlic powder, but other than that, left the ingredients the same. I made breadcrumbs from scratch out of wheat bread. I made the meatballs a bit smaller, coming out with a batch of about 18-20 from a pound. I baked for 17 minutes and then finished by cooking them in a homemade sauce. I really like that this recipe doesn't use egg (BF has an allergy) and makes delicious meatballs that hold together!I would definitely make these again.

Golden Rum Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2011
This cake is really good, but a bit on the sweet side. I think next time I will use the coconut variation, that sounds delicious!

Modenese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2011
This was a very tasty recipe... I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out well. Be sure to use thick cut pork chops for the cook time to be right.

Banana Oat Bread Pudding

Reviewed: May 31, 2011
This turned out alright... but not great. I substituted applesauce for the butter, other than that I followed the recipe. I thought it was a little more like oatmeal than a bread pudding.

Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: May 23, 2011
This recipe is pretty good, I took others' advice and used 6 oz of plain greek yogurt plus a little splash of 1% milk in place of the buttermilk and used 1/3rd cup of applesauce for the oil. I also added some choco chips (which make everything taste better) and some strawberry jam into the middles of them.... they are quite tasty! I'd make them again.

Bean Soup With Kale

Reviewed: May 22, 2011
I needed to cook this soup much longer than suggested for it to develop a really good flavor, but eventually it turned out nice and flavorful. I added some little round noodles and also more veggies like carrots, broccoli, and celery. This made for a really hearty soup.

No Bake Double Good Dessert

Reviewed: May 22, 2011
This recipe was fairly easy and turned out pretty tasty. I don't know if it's my kind of dessert, but if you like the flavor of cool whip, you'll probably like this dessert.

Slow Cooker Creamy Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
I thought this was just ok.... I thought the half and half flour mixture kind of made this a bit bland. Next time I'll use a bit more seasoning.

Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2011
I changed this a bit, I used frozen broccoli and added fresh garlic and half and half. It turned out really tasty, I was able to make it with things I just had in the house and that made it extra good!

Ian's Potato-Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
This recipe was really good once it was modified. First of all, I cooked it in the slow cooker for about 8 hours. I used low sodium chicken broth instead of water and boullion, I added a frozen veg mix of corn, beans, peppers, and onions, I added fresh brocolli and snap peas, I added a lot of fresh garlic, in addition, I seasoned with hot sauce, red pepper flakes, cayenne powder, pepper, garlic powder, and a little salt. I also added a little cheddar cheese in at the end. It turned out delicious, but as written I think this would have been really bland.

Slow-Cooked Short Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2011
This was really delicious. The only thing I changed in the sauce was I used apple cider vinegar, not the red wine because that's what I had. I also just added the short ribs frozen, I didn't bother to flour them or anything and they turned out great, they were falling apart. I will definitely make this recipe again.

Chicken Scarpariello

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
This was a really tasty dish. I seasoned the chicken before browning and added fresh squeezed lemon juice. It turned out really yummy, the chicken was so tender. The only problem was the sauce was pretty thin, maybe I should have used more flour or something...

This stew was not so great.... I even added fresh garlic, hot pepper sauce, and many other seasonings as suggested by other reviewers and it just wasn't that flavorful...It didn't taste bad, but it was pretty bland. I won't be making this again.

This turned out so good! I have never made risotto before, and it turned out just wonderfully! Almost like a restaurant. Wow. The only thing I changed was that I used parm instead of feta and I added carrots. So good, Thank you for the recipe!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
These muffins were really good. I added chocolate chips and it tasted really good. I took off a star because the topping was not that great and ended up a little soggy, not crumbly. It could have been my fault, but overall these were really good.

Roasted Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2011
This was so good! I followed the directions exactly and it was just great. I made 2 big loaves of bread for a party and it was a big hit. I did use Mozz cheese instead of the parm on top, and it was just very yummy.
