Homemade Butter

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2008
Very good made with raw organic cream from pastured grass-fed cows. The high vitamin content and good saturated fats make this a staple in our home. All we use is flax oil (as a condiment only), EVOO, raw EV-coconut oil and homemade butter. I am learning more about culturing butter, I'd love to see some of those in here. To the lady who thought this is cheaper than store bought... I get 1 qt. raw cream for $8, and I get 1# of butter out of that. Not bad for health food IMHO. ;)

The Best Double Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2007
Oh Oh OHHH!!! This is really the best recipe ever! Okay, I tweaked it a little, here's what I did. I used 1/2 a heaping cup cocoa powder, all butter, added a teaspoon cinnamon, and a smidgen of cayenne pepper. It doesn't add spice persay, just some warmth that goes so nice with the sweetness and the richness of the chocolate. I also substituted 2 c. 60% bittersweet chocolate chips, and 1 c. chopped almonds for the 3. chocolate chips. These came out so crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside. I baked them for 10 minutes, they were perfect. I used my Silpat instead of greaing a pan.I have a keeper here. I gave them as a hostess gift at my Bunco group last night. She loved them. I love how there isn't a huge long list of ingred., just simple and well proportioned. I have always had trouble making cookies, but this was foolproof. Enjoy!

No Butter Choco-Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2007
Oh this one is AMAZING! Very soft and chewy, just what we were looking for. I doubled the recipe and this carried us through a weekend of softball tournaments. I didn't have butterscotch chips and didn't want to add more chocolate so I added some trail mix that's heavy on the seeds like pumpkin and sunflower, and nuts and raisins to up the nutrition content. My 9 year old made these all by herself. Thank you for the great recipe.

Bucket Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2006
This was a great fast, yummy salad that was super for breakfast the next day too! ;D I used organic blue corn tortilla chips, and also 1 can of kidney beans in the meat for extra fiber. We served it with the meat on top, with sour cream and extra shredded cheese. Oh and don't forget the hot sauce. The recipe is just a great starting point, and you can add anything you love to make it your own!
