Rosemary Pull-Apart Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2015
These are great rolls. Very soft and fresh! I made the dough in my bread machine and then made them into rolls and let raise for the second time. Made the work so easy. Next time I will add a little more rosemary because I love the flavor and wasn't quite enough for me. Great recipe though!!

Mom's Red Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2015
I made these exactly as written and they were delicious. They did take about 1 1/2 hours to cook and I sliced them thin and divided into 2 containers, one of which I froze. Hoping that they hold up to the freezing. Next time I'll cut back on the butter some because with so much cheese it creates too much oil which separates out. I agree with another poster that these are Au Gratin potatoes, not scalloped. Scalloped potatoes don't have cheese.

French Bread Rolls to Die For

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2015
I made these in the bread machine on the dough cycle and after they went through the first rise I cut the dough into 12 pieces and put in large muffin tins. Let rise again and bake. Mmmmm good! They are so easy and I froze in small batches so that I could take them out, wrap in foil and warm in the oven. Tasted just as fresh as the first day. They are simple and light tasting. So yummy!!

Homey Chicken and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2014
Nice comfort recipe. Needed to use up some chicken from a roasted chick and thought this sounded good. It was! No changes except for topping. Used Italian bread crumbs moistened with a little melted butter. Delish!

Fresh Corn and Zucchini Saute

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2014
I really liked this. Great combo of flavors. Can't get fresh corn? Frozen works just as well and we can get fresh zuchinni here year-round. It's a very nice side dish and I'm sure that adding some variety (such as peppers) would work well.

Smoky Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2014
Excellent recipe! Nice smoky flavor. Choose nice pork chops for grilling. Thicker chops tend to stay juicier on the grill.

Baked Apricot Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2014
This was really, really good. I followed the advice of a few others and used Catalina dressing instead of french. Cut the sauce mixture in half for only 3 large chicken thighs. So lots of sauce!! Yum!!

Shrimp and White Bean Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2014
I really liked this salad. Very simple. Several people said to use the smaller salad shrimp for this, but I enjoy the flavor and texture of the larger shrimp, so just cut each shrimp into thirds and it made the pieces similar to the other ingredients and soaked up more dressing that way. It was a nice filling main dish salad with some garlic bread and nice glas of chardonnay!!

London Broil II

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2014
I loved, loved, loved this marinade. I followed recipe but did add about 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire & the juice of 1 lemon & the zest. Yum! I want to mention too that the confusion about flank steak vs. London Broil. Flank steak is the cut of meat, London Broil is a method of cooking flank steak. Most London Broil recipes call for the thin cut of steak to be rolled and cut like a pinwheel and broiled (sometimes stuffed). This really is just a recipe for marinated flank steak, not a true London Broil. Still Yummy whatever it's called :)

Harvest Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2013
Really good salad. I made some changes just based on the items I had. I used olive oil instead of buying walnut oil. Also, I had a mixed berry jam on hand that worked perfectly. The dressing was outstanding! The tomatoes sounded weird with the other items so didn't used. I love avacados but I thought they tasted a little strange with the dressing, so next time I will not include them. I liked some other suggestions of adding some different fruits (berries or apples). I also like the idea of throwing in some bacon. I will definitely play around with this recipe. It's worth it for the dressing alone!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2013
This was very good and the only reason I gave it 4 stars was because it had way to much sugar. 1/2 cup is plenty and I used granny smith apples which are pretty tart. I did double the topping and it was very good. Also, could see no point to add baking powder and soda, so left it out. I'm not sure what that would have done for it.

Green Bean and Mushroom Medley

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2013
This is excellent just as it is!!! I used carrots that were small jullienes because I had a bag on hand and they worked great. I steamed the green beans (fresh) and just added the carrots the last couple of minutes because they were so small. It worked great and was a very pretty combination of colors and tasted grrreeaaatt!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2013
I made these yesterday and they were absolutely wonderful. I made them into round dinner rolls instead of the crescents. The only problem I see is to not eat too many. Verrrrryyy tasty - especially warm out of the oven. And I love doing them in the bread machine - so easy!

This was okay. Too much oregano and the meat seemed dry to me. I used Country Style Ribs. I have much better recipes for these, so probably won't make again.

Chef John's Baked Eggs

These were very good. I used pizza sauce and went heavy on the red pepper because I like the spice. Pretty rich breakfast. I wouldn't eat it often but was a nice treat.

Mom's Best Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: May 14, 2013
This is really good. I did add a couple of eggs and I didn't use the sugar. Eagle Brand milk has plenty of sugar in it. IMO. The salad was a nice change from the usual. Wouldn't make it often, but a nice different salad. BTW, the recipe is huge, I cut in half and still had enough for 8 people with leftovers (and that included a 16 year old boy that eats like a horse).

Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: May 6, 2013
I have been looking for a really good recipe for ribs! This is it!! I'm so happy. I did the boiling method. Sorry to the reviewer who said never boil ribs. I've actually done that before with other rib recipes and found that it really tenderizes them and it does cut some of the fat. So I'm going against that advice because it works for me. I didn't have any chili sauce so substituted some Sweet Baby Rays and some hot sauce. The sauce makes it. I grilled them but I'm sure if the weather was bad that the oven would work for finishing them off. The sauce is killer!
