Fancy Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2006
These are SUPER yummy! I have made these twice now and the first time was exxcelent and the second time I did...I accidently bought a bag of rolo's, reeces and kisses...I used all three candies(cut the reeces and rolos in half) and put them in the mix. It tasted soooo good! I ran out of the dough so the top layer was toffee and choc. chips. I made my own choc. cake mix(healthier. I always have to cook things longer, but I think that's just my oven. FABULOUS recipe! Chewy, gooey, super yummy and worth the calories!

Moon Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2006
We did not enjoy this at all. The cake was like a dutch baby without the sugar. The pudding mixture was the only thing we enjoyed because of a few modifications and that is why I gave this three stars instead of one. This desert is not consistent and the toping doesn't compliment the cake well. Okay so the three stars goes to the awesome toping which is very much like a mousse. I made this again tonight using chocolate pudding and cream cheese. If you let the cream cheese sit before whipping it will not clump. Its worth it for the top, but the cake part sucks.

Sweet Rice and Mango

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2006
This is a very easy, but not so much authentic way to make this wonderful dessert. Instead of cooking the rice in water use the coconut milk and add sugar to taste. This will make the rice have the "sticky" consistency and the more beautiful appearance. The flavor using this method is much more creamy and rich while still being light.

Sweet Orange Chicken II

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
Always a favorite. Tastes great as leftovers. I cook this on med-low for a little over an hour and always add some cornstarch. Very tasty! The flavor is subtle, but the chicken is tender as can be.

Shrimp and Asparagus

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2006
Everyone I make this for loves it! Even the picky eaters asked for seconds. I have made this with egg noodles, angel hair and my personal favorite; linguine. I steam the asparagus while I cook my pasta. Once the asparagus is cooked I add it to a saucepan with my butter, olive oil, s&p, mushrooms and garlic. I saute them until my pasta is ready and then I add my shrimp in the veggie mixture. Cook for 3 minutes and add my pasta. Always is delicious.

Raspberry-Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2007
I disagree with the previous reviewer, but I think the essential part of the is recipe is to make sure you get a BIG orange and it's a really sweet one. I have made this recipe a couple times and I also marinate the chicken breasts in orange juice before cooking them to add a bit more orange flavor. Great recipe.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2007
I've made this recipe at least 5 times. Right now I am cooking a double batch and my house smells soooo good! This recipe is great for a moist and delicious choc chip cookie. I use butterscotch pudding in these and they come out GREAT. Choc pudding works ok and Vanilla is great too, but butterscotch is by far the favorite. Everyone should try these once. Well worth the money, time and effort. I use an extra tsp of vanilla whenever I make them and always use good quality choc chips.

Pesto Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2007
I saw the picture for this recipe and had to try it. It's 10 AM here and I am eating pasta for breakfast, lol! It tastes delicious, I added a few more spices just because I was in the mood for a little more garlic. Great recipe , I also omited the flour and halved the butte(olive oil for hte other half). Turned out PERFECT and light.

Lemon Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2007
Very easy to make as well as delicious! I add 1 TB more of lemon juice into the bread and eyeball the zest. I put the glaze on after forty minutes of cook time and bake for ten more minutes, or until the top turns golden. This makes the top almost caramalized. This is a no fail recipe.

Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2007
This is a really good base recipe. I made a few changes... I missread the recipe to begin with and only used 1 cup of sugar and I am glad I did! I added 1/2 tsp additional of the following nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, all spice and lemon juice. I subed the oil for applesauce and added a tsp of applesauce to the crumble as well as a tsp of cinnamon. I made a glaze to drizzle on top during the last five minutes of cooking out of 2 tbs half/half, 1 C confectionars sugar, 1 tbs butter, 1 tbs lemon juice and 1 tbs of applesauce. The glaze really makes this recipe POP! Thanks for sharing.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! As a person who has lived in South Africa, but now in the US I am so happy to come across this recipe. Tastes almost identical to what I used to get back in my high school days. Really great recipe and very easy to follow. THANK YOU once again.

Shoofly Pie V

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2007
I had an entire bottle of molasses expiring so I decided to make this pie. My step father is from PA, but said he disliked the pie when he had it there. BUT I made this recipe and I swear he ate half the pie! Very easy to make, quite tasty and although mine didn't look very much like the picture it was still good. I didn't know how to tell when the pie was 'done,' and figured when the goo started pouring over the edge I should take it out. It left the bottom part a little gooey, but I really like that. ALSO I made a graham cracker crust and it came out ten times better then the butter crust.
