Chocolate Tres Leches Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2011
All I need say is....YUMMY, YUMMY, YUMMY!!!!! Don't let the cake cool before you poke holes & pour mixture over top and you won't have a problem with it not soaking in. Try using a straw to poke your holes and then blow the cake pieces out into a cup periodically.

As easy as this recipe is you wouldn't think it would be so good! The chicken was so moist and had a great taste. Will definitely make again.

Appalachian Slaw

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2011
This is a great recipe and it may sound crazy but the only thing that makes it better is ranch dressing. I actually used more mayo than it called for (mayo w/ olive oil) and added about a third ranch dressing to the mayo with a little sugar to tone the tartness down a little and SCRUMPTIOUS!!

Cajun Chicken and Sausage Gumbo

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2012
This is the first time I have made a gumbo much less a roux and I was a little intimidated. I had some great gumbo in Texas and have wanted to take a stab at it for a long time. You HAVE to make this, it is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! It was time consuming, but SO worth the effort. Thanks for the Great Recipe.

Fresh Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2013
I have wanted to make a rhubarb pie for my husband of 26 years after hearing about the ones his Grandma use to make but you know how that goes. I have had this particular recipe saved for a few years and finally decided to make it when his Mom gave me some rhubarb she had grown. I went exactly by the recipe and used Perfect Pie Crust II from this site also. He wasn't home when I made it, so I sent him a picture on his phone and he was worried it wouldn't still be warm by the time he got home. His words after savoring the first piece: "I really hate to say this being she was my grandmother, but this is better than hers. It has the perfect amount of tart versus sweet. He thanked me numerous times for bringing so many great memories back to him. I will definitely be making this for him often. Thank you so much, Carol!!!!!

Parmesan Dill Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2013
These sounded so good, I just had to try them despite some of the reviews. You definitely need to add more flour whether you double the recipe or not. I doubled the recipe then added another 2/3 cup flour and baked them in a muffin tin. They came out wonderful!

Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2014
I just made this tonight and it was AWESOME! I don't usually substitute ingredients; but had no choice in this cold & snowy weather. I crushed up ritz crackers instead of the panko bread crumbs and used Prego Spicy Sausage Spaghetti Sauce. Otherwise I followed the recipe. It was sooooo good! I will definitely be making this often. Thank you, Chef John.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2014
Made two loves last night and added chocolate chips to one and peanut butter chips to the other. Even without the addition; this is the best banana bread I have ever made. I think the sour cream helps in the moist factor. I didn't have soft butter and couldn't wait, so I did melt it and it worked out just fine.

Herb Roasted Pork

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2014
I have made this twice now. I didn't alter any of the ingredients; only the cooking time the second go around. The first time I went by the recipe, but it was too done. The second time at 1-1/2 hours the themometer was already at 140 degrees, so I just turned off the oven and took a nap. After the oven was cool, we took it out and cut it and it was heaven!

Tater Crisp Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2014
I also give it a 4 only because there aren't any seasonings listed. I agree with CHRISCOOKING and DEFINITELY put foil down first it saves a lot of time. I added seasoning salt, garlic powder and cayenne pepper in with the potato flakes and everyone LOVED it.
