Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2012
I've tried many key lime pie recipes and this is by far my favorite! I always add a tsp of vanilla as well and make my own graham cracker crust with crushed crackers and butter. I used the sweetened whipped cream recipe from this site (doubled) for thick fluffy layer on top. I've had many people tell me it's the best they've had. Thanks for the recipe!

Pumpkin Cake III

Love it. I make this in sheet cake form as well as cupcakes with a little extra cinnamon than what it calls for. Fluffy, moist, and not too sweet.

Hot Spinach and Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
Best Spinach and Artichoke Dip I've ever made! The only things I did differently was I used refrigerated bacon bits and sprinkled come grated Parmesan on top before baking. I served it in a deep pie dish. I did take the advice of another reviewer and ran the spinach and artichokes through the food processor first. Perfect! Great recipe!

Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
This is the best chicken salad I've ever had. I stuck to the recipe except I forgot to buy almonds, used fresh parsley, and was a can short of water chestnuts (I tripled the recipe for a party.) I can't imagine it being any better! I roasted 2 medium sized chickens and it made enough for 20 people.

Peanut Butter KELLOGG'S® RICE KRISPIES TREATS®

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2009
I took these to a cookout and they were devoured. I didn't change any ingredients but I did melt the peanut butter along with the butter (on low/med low heat to avoid scorching) and it worked just fine. I think it probably makes it easier to stir than when you add the peanut butter after. I also melted some chocolate and put a coating on the top, refrigerated for a few hours, and cut into squares. I find the squares hold their shape better if you press the mix into the pan pretty firmly.

Cherry Cobbler I

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2009
The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is that I made changes similar to those suggested by previous reviewers. Cut the water for the syrup to 2/3 cup, sugar to 1/2 cup, added a smidge more corn starch, then I added 1 tsp of vanilla to the syrup. It turned out perfect! I baked it in a deep dish pie pan and baked for 55 mins. Will definitely make it again!

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
I've tried a couple basic muffin recipes from the site and this is my favorite. I just made a double batch and made two different kinds. In one batch I put a dollop of raspberry preserves in the middle of the muffin before baking and sprinkled a few choc chips on top. Yum. The other half I put two mashed bananas and some cinnamon and baked it in a cake pan and just baked it a little longer. Turned out wonderful. Thanks for the recipe Lori!

Really good as is. I almost always tweak recipes, but I don't think this one needs a thing. My husband LOVED it.

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2007
Delicious and easy. I love that you don't have to brown it first. I've made this a few times with and without coffee. It's great either way and doesn't have any coffee flavor if you do use it. I've also played around with adding garlic and onion powder, paprika and brown sugar to make more of a rub. Sometimes I make it just like the recipe. It's hard to mess up. It's great any way you want to spice it up. I do really like adding a big of liquid smoke like others have said. My favorite way to eat it is without the bun along side garlic mashed potatos and veggies. Mmmmmm!

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2007
Ok, I wouldn't go so far as to say they're the best muffins I've ever had, but they are so easy to make and what a great way to sneak some extra vitamins and fiber into the family diet. I've made them with chocolate cake mix, spice cake and yellow cake. All are good. I even tried frosting the chocolate ones and they totally taste like yummy cupcakes. I make these about once or twice a week. My kids love 'em. I use mini muffin pans mostly which only need 15 to 17 mins to bake.

Definitely the best blueberry muffins I've ever made and possibly the best I've ever had. I wish I would have doubled the recipe. :-)

Spicy Hot Crab Spread

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2007
I made this for a New Year's party and it was a hit. Great with sliced crusty bread or crackers. Not quite as cheesy and rich as some others (don't get me wrong, I like cheesy and rich) but this is good for a change and the spicy kick is nice too. I'll definitely make it again.

Grilled Peanut Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2006
I've make this minus the curry, (can't seem to acquire a taste for that) Make double (or triple) sauce, warm it up and serve it over some kind of asian noodles pad tai style... or linguini or angel hair. A sprinkling of finely chopped green onions is a good add in. Thinning out the sauce with a little chicken stock if it's too thick. I prefer using the crunchy peanut butter or I've also topped it with chopoped peanuts. My peanut butter lovin' 4 year old eats it up.

Greek Penne and Chicken

Really good. I'll make it again. I added 1/2 cup chicken broth to make it a tad saucier and a little more garlic. Also added more feta on top to serve.

Chocolate Lovers' Favorite Cake

Reviewed: May 30, 2006
OK, I didn't see fireworks when I ate it, but it's a DARN GOOD cake and you won't be dissappointed. Much more dense and moist than regular cake. It really doesn't need anything more than powdered sugar on top or some whipped cream or something, since it has the chocolate chips in the mix. Would also be awesome served warm with a scoop of vanilla icecream. I drizzled melted white chocolate on top and it was almost too much. I made 2 cakes and I think it tasted better when I used the Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Fudge mix rather than the Devils Food. Tasted slightly less like cake mix. I think I'll try it again putting the instant coffee in the mix. I saw some reviews about the almond extract tasting too strong, but I could barely taste it. I know it says to make a well and put all the wet ingredients in and mix it up, but whenever I make a cake, I've always whipped my eggs separately and mixed my wet ingredients before mixing it all. I don't know if it really makes a difference. Also, I did bake it about 7 minutes longer until only a tiny bit of wetness appeard on the tip of my knife and they were not too gooey at all. I also had the bundt pan on top of my pizza stone. Don't know if this makes a difference either... all I know is they turned out perfectly. Yum!
