Last night it was a recipe that originated from the NHS Healthy Eating programme that is now, I think, defunct. But it had some great recipes. I made steamed rice to go with the recipe for Healthy Citrus Chicken, but I added a few pineapple chunks. It was a great sweet n sour chicken, better than what we would get from the take-away and healthier too. Here is a link to the new version of the NHS website for Healthy Eating.

About Me
Born in NY, married a man from Kilkenny, Ireland, living in rural Scotland. A son, aged 24, living in Aberdeen (Scotland) and attending uni.
My favorite things to cook
Soups and sometimes slow cooker meals. Also breads, ordinary yeast breads.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Soups of any description. Potatoes, any way, any time.
My cooking triumphs
Steamed vegetables with fresh herbs seem to turn out well, and veggie stir fry's. And of course: fish and chips.
My cooking tragedies
A huge dinner party, 40 people, to have an American Style Thanksgiving. Two turkeys. The second Turkey never cooked!
