About this Cook
Born in NY, married a man from Kilkenny, Ireland, living in rural Scotland. A son, aged 24, living in Aberdeen (Scotland) and attending uni.
My favorite things to cook
Soups and sometimes slow cooker meals. Also breads, ordinary yeast breads.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Soups of any description. Potatoes, any way, any time.
My cooking triumphs
Steamed vegetables with fresh herbs seem to turn out well, and veggie stir fry's. And of course: fish and chips.
My cooking tragedies
A huge dinner party, 40 people, to have an American Style Thanksgiving. Two turkeys. The second Turkey never cooked!

Buttermilk Pancakes I
I made this when we had guests for lunch, with syrupy strawberries on the side. Some pancakes had a handful of blueberries cooked into them. And squeezable golden syrup for those who preferred their stack with less imagination. It was a treat for everyone.

Cinnamon Rolls II
The icing was good, a good topping but recipe didn't used enough flour. The brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon was also a little flat.
