Grilled Asparagus

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2009
I just love asparagus this way. It always comes out soo tender. I usually have to make two bunches because everyone enjoys it. I also marinate asparagus in italian dressing at times.

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
Wow, this was very good. I did have a pound of meat so I doubled everything but the brown sugar. Based on reviews of this recipe too sweet, I decided to use less. Also, I used chopped onions instead of the powder. Kids really liked them. This is my new sloppy joe recipe.

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2009
Excellent,I didn't have time to marinate because this was a last minute meal. We were tired of the same grilled chicken and wanted a different flavor. I came upon this recipe that I saved to my recipe box. The marinade was easy and fast to put together. We just basted as it cooked and the chicken was so moist. Can't wait til next time, I will plan to marinate. Thanks for sharing.

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
Really good, I did have a smaller pan, 12" and I had to cook it a few minutes longer because of the thickness, but it came out sooo good. Everyone loved it and a scoop of vanilla ice cream was a perfect addition!!

Byrdhouse Marinated Tomatoes and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
This was just ok for me, it didn't blow my socks off. Next time I'm going to use evoo instead of vegetable oil and the whole time that I was eating it, I kept thinking how good fresh mozzarella would taste in it. I also drained off some of the dressing, I thought it was a little too much. Also, the dark color turned the kids off and most of the pictures for this recipe did not have that brownish color, I guess they used something else. I will make this recipe again.

Spicy Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
Wow, we loved it!! I followed the directions exactly and it came out delicious. It was a real treat on a very hot & humid day. My husband couldn't stop eating it, thank goodness we ran out of tortilla chips, we now have some for tomorrow and I have to run to the store for more chips. Thanks so much for sharing.

Restaurant-Style Hashbrown Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2009
This was just ok for me, husband liked it, one son said he would rather have a box style type. I did use the advice of Angie and added a can of condensed cheddar cheese and a cup of sour cream and sprinkled the top with some bacon.

Dirt Cake I

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2009
I only rated this recipe a four and I have made dirt for years. The reason for the four is 3 1/2 cups of milk seems alot, I usually use 1 1/2 cups of milk along with 1 1/2 cups of confectioners sugar. My consistency comes out thick and I think the 3 1/2 cups of milk would make the cream more on the thin side. Maybe it's my personal preference, but I just couldn't pour all that milk.

Monday Night Hot Wing Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2009
THE BEST!! I had two packages of thin chicken breast cutlets that I boiled, shredded and added the remaining ingredients. My husband and sons got home just in time from a day out on the water. I did make twice the amount and came up with two pans. The first pan went as fast as a blink of the eye!! The second pan has a pretty big dent in it also! I have a feeling that the leftover will not make it to tomorrow!!

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2009
Wow, the easiest roast that I ever made! I did rub olive oil along with fresh chopped garlice along with salt and pepper. I did turn the oven back on after the three hours to give it just a little more cook time, about 1/2 hour because some family members like it on the medium well side. The roast was tender and juicy and it was the first time that I made a eye roast and totally enjoyed it.

Chocolate-Covered OREO Cookie Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2009
EXCELLENT!! Everyone raved about this cake, it was the perfect dessert to finish our July 4th celebration. The only difference that I did was not to use the frosting, I did make it but it was way too thin, so I used a can of frosting. Thanks so much for sharing.

Rick's Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2009
I used this recipe to go with the chocolate cupcakes with cookie dough surprise in the middle. I did cut the recipe in half, due to other reviews stating that it made alot. I also used half butter and half shortening and it came out really good.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2009
Wow, everyone just loved these cupcakes. I did cheat and bought premade cookie dough at the store and now I feel like I'm getting pay backs for doing that since it was on the news today that the cookie dough was being pulled from the shelves. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that no one gets sick. I also used a buttercream frosting from this site. This is a keeper!!

Classy Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2009
This recipe was just ok to me. My son who loves the classic green bean casserole wasn't that crazy about it. I did cut the recipe in half because I wanted to make for my son, but it was mush thicker than the original recipe that I usually use.

Traditional Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2009
Very good, I made a turkey breast today and wanted to make "real" potatoes as the husband calls them. Okay when I'm in a rush the BC instant potatoes, gets the job done! They were very creamy and I did add just a little more milk to satisfy our preference.

Vegetable Medley I

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2009
I love this recipe! I make it at least once a week all through the year. It's best during the summer season. The only difference is that I use red peppers opposed to green and fresh basil and parsley along with the oregano and I usually do it in a big saute pan. Too hot in the summer for the oven.
