About this Cook
I've always loved to cook and bake. It makes me happy when I see people truly enjoy something I've made. I've cooked and baked for a number of restaurants and nursing/personal care homes. Most recently I baked all of the desserts, dinner breads and sandwich rolls for a German restaurant in my town. My baked goods and number of other dishes are always anticipated at family get togethers. I love to try new recipes and I collect cookbooks/recipes. I have 2 grown children and 1 grandson and a husband, Jim.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake breads and desserts of all kinds. Some of my most requested are home-made white rolls, oatmeal rolls, cinnamon rolls and various pies. As for other dishes my stuffed cabbage rolls are expected at most of our family get togethers.

Classic Macaroni Salad
This recipe is basically like my own recipe, except with about 1/2 the amount of sugar, and I use Miracle Whip plus diced hard-boiled eggs. But what I do when I make macaroni or potato salad is I mix up the vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper and yellow mustard and add it to the hot macaroni or potatoes and refrigerate it for a couple of hours or overnight. This gets more flavor into the macaroni or potatoes. Also if your dressing seems a little dry, try adding a splash of milk. At family reunions, etc., my kids would only eat my salads.
