this is a great summertime meal, its light and cool. I added green onions, hard boiled egg, a dollup of sour cream, and sub'd motzerella...new family favorite for sure

San Francisco Sourdough Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2012
I've made this recipe twice now, and I'm planning on continuing experimenting with it, and making more tweaks until I get it how I want it. The first time I made this, I followed the recipe exactly, and I ended up having to add water because the dough was WAY too dry, and the resulting loafs were way too dense for my taste...although they were great for making a garlic cheese loaf appetizer. The second time I made this I let the yeast proof for 10 minutes in the warm milk and sugar before adding the rest of the ingredients, and I added the flour one cup at a time. These alterations made for a much better rise, and the loafs were lighter, flufier, and tastier. Next time, I'm going do the same alterations as my 'take 2', and also take the advise of a much longer rise time, as well as the egg white only egg wash...I'm also hoping that my starter is more matured by then too, for a better sour flavor, its only 2 weeks old right now but its getting better every day. I'm hoping to use this recipe, with alterations, for some dinner rolls soon too

Hamburger Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
I altered this recipe quite a bit...instead of bread slices, I used pilsbury biscuits from a canister, and for the filling I used browned sausage, cream cheese, chopped/, sauteed scallions and garlic, and topped with the shredded cheddar. bake 14 minutes, and instant hit with the family!!

Green Chicken Enchilada

these are even better if you sautee coarsly chopped onion, garlic, bell pepper, green chillies, and tomatoes, and add to the shredded chicken mix.

Fudge Puddles

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
these are great cookies...after i made them the first time though, I decided to an opposite cookie, and added 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa, 2 extra tbs butter, and 1 tbs milk to the cookie batter for a chocolate cookie, and used 1/3 cup peanutbutter, 3/4 cup powder sugar, and 1/8 cup flour for a peanutbutter filling...and it was like a reese's peanutbutter cup in a cookie!! Most excellent

Magic Peanut Butter Middles

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2011
the dough was too crubly as is, so I added 3 more tbs butter and 2 tbs of milk, and that made these soooo very soft and chewy. I also added just over 1/4 cup flour and 2 tbs butter to the filling, and made pinwheels (the filling just turns to mush in pinwheels without the extra flour and butter).

Pumpkin Swirl Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
This bread is our newest family fav. I did make a couple alterations though...I added 1/8 cup flour to the cream cheese mix because it seemed to liquidy...I used a whole can (15 oz) pumpkin and 2 cups flour, and added 1/2 tsp each ground cloves and ginger for extra spice. I used a piping bag for the cream cheese mixture, piped a little in the bottom of the muffin cup, halfway through the muffin, and topped with a little more for decoration. This made 2 dozen regular size muffins and they go sooooo quick.
