My favorite things to cook
Started cooking around 10 years old; making Salisbury steak, pearl onions and popovers as my first specialty.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Rib Roast at Christmas! My uncle was a chef and made this every year and the smell of roasting garlic and pepper inserted into the fat takes me back to my childhood immediately! I always insist on this one holdover from growing up; no ham or turkey!
My cooking triumphs
I've managed to make a few baked cheesecakes that came out amazingly well AND not all cracked! I am the master of putting a bunch of stuff together at the last minute and managing to pull off a whole meal. Always remember: Cream of Mushroom soup goes with EVERYTHING!
My cooking tragedies
I'd have to say that my experiment with cooking potatoes, tomatoes and peppers together in one dish was quite heinous. Now I know to respect the nightshade family and keep them all apart!
