Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2008
I just finished eating one of these and it was sooo good! I've been wanting to make these for a while now and finally did because I needed to use up some cream cheese frosting I had made. Well, they were pretty easy to make and this is the very first time I've made cinnamon rolls that didn't come out of a tube. I did halve the recipe so I got 6 big cinnamon rolls. I don't have a bread machine, so I followed some other reviewers advice. I mixed the butter, brown sugar and cinnamon together for the filling and I have to say it was plenty. Also, I flipped the pan over onto a cookie sheet right after I took them out of the oven so all that gooey filling would recoat the rolls, like other reviewers said. These really were great and I know I will make these again.

Marinated Cherry Tomato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2008
I had some really pretty little heirloom tomatoes that I needed to use and this was perfect. Only changes I made were that I used olive oil and balsamic vinegar, oh and fresh parsley. Turned out very nice and really pretty.

Chicken, Feta Cheese, and Sun-Dried Tomato Wraps

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2008
I made this with some left over "roast sticky chicken" from this site, and used fresh tomatoes from the "marinated cherry tomato salad" I had made. I did not have the sun dried tomato dressing so I just poured a little of the dressing from the tomato salad on it. It was very tasty! I know I made what seems like a lot of changes, but I just used what I had :)

Fruit Dip II

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2008
This was really yummy! I didnt use marshmallow creme though, I used some homemade marshmallows that I needed to use up and it worked out well. I just melted them in the microwave then stirred in the cream cheese. This is great with pretty much any fruit I think. I had it with some apple slices, strawberries, grapes, and banana.

Fried Chicken with Creamy Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
This is seriously the best fried chicken and gravy I have ever had/made! The only changes I made were that I only used chicken thighs (bone in, skin on) and I didnt have any poultry seasoning so I used some sage, thyme, and onion powder. I served it with potatoes, corn and biscuits... soooo good! There are few things I like more that biscuits and gravy and this gravy was freakin fantastic with the biscuits. This will now be the only fried chicken and gravy recipe I will ever use!!! Well worth the 5 star rating!

Bacon for the Family or a Crowd

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
I really wanted to try this because I hate frying bacon and it turned out perfect. I did like another reviewer and lined my baking sheet with foil then putthe bacon on the rack that fits in the pan. Didnt have to flip it or drain the grease.

Blue Cornmeal Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
These were yummy! The only change I made was that I used 1/4 cup of whole wheat flour for some of the flour called for and I used oil instead of melted butter. They turned out great and I served them with some leftover cinnamon honey syrup from the Taste of Home chocolate chip pancakes on this site. Went together perfect!

Luscious Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
This turned out good! I did use less powdered sugar, but I didnt cut back on the milk so it wasnt as firm as I would have liked it to be. That was my fault though, so now I know for next time :)

These were great! They were nice and light and fluffy! The only change I made was that I halved it and used 1/4 teaspoon vanilla and 1/4 teaspoon almond extract. I didnt have any powdered sugar so I just drizzled on the honey. The honey definitely makes these great. Oh, also, I didnt let it sit for an hour I just fried 'em up and they turned out fine :)
