Cheeseburger Buns

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2010
wow...the bun part of this is awesome. Very soft and delicious. I did the meat part my own way I guess...just seasoned it more and had to use ketchup instead of tomato sauce. Turned out pretty good. I'd love to stuff these with all kinds of other stuff though :)

No-Guilt Zesty Ranch Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
This was great! I made dressing by adding some fresh buttermilk that I had leftover from making butter. I had to use a little more mayo and some sour cream because when I opened my plain yogurt it had mold on it (ugh!) I didn't have any green onions, so I used some dried chives and I omitted the bacon bits because I didn't have any. Super good! I'm trying to get my husband to stop eating the bottled ranch so we'll see how he likes this!

Crusty Potato Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
This bread was awesome! I have been searching for a good sandwich bread for quite a while and I really think that I've found it! This bread is very soft and has great flavor. It's perfect. I do not have a breadmaker so I just used my kitchen aid. I did reduce the flour to 3 cups and increase the potato flakes to 3/4 cups. Awesome. I will definitely be making this again...probably weekly :)

S'mores Crumb Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2010
These were tasty. My crumb crust was falling apart like others have mentioned. I used my own homemade marshmallows that I needed to use up. Even though they fell apart, they were still really yummy, but I think I'll probably stick to good ol' s'mores

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2010
yum yum yum. I made them exactly as written except I halved it and used an 8x8 pan. The whole family likes these. They were super easy too so I'll definitely make these again :)

Fried Empanadas

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
These were good! Only changes I made were that I added some garlic powder and some chili powder and I baked them. The kids liked them so that's good. I think they'd be better fried (what isn't?) but i wanted to go the healthy route :)

Half and Halfs

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
These are really great. The only change I made was that I reduced the flour on the chocolate side by 1/4 cup so both doughs would be the same consistency. Very yummy and cute!

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Garlic Mayo

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
These were so good! I actually used some beef stew meat that I needed to use up. I marinated the meat in some olive oil and steak seasoning for a few hours. I also made "french bread rolls to die for" from this site for the sandwich rolls. I also used provalone cheese instead of mozarella. I agree that the garlic mayo really makes this good. I will defenitely make this again with some better meat :)

Tantalizing Turkey and Blue Cheese Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2010
These turned out very nice! I'm not a huge blue cheese fan, but my brother is and he loved them. I served them with mashed potatoes and a balsamic reduction.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

This was excellent! I made it as written, other than leaving out the celery (didn't have any) and pepper (hate it) Super easy and pretty quick to make. I will definitely make his again :)

Southern-Style Chocolate Gravy

Super good! I did follow another reviewers advice and increased the cocoa to 1/2 cup and added some salt. It was perfect! And of course, the kids loved it :)

Teena's Overnight Southern Buttermilk Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
These are probably the best homamade biscuits that I've ever made, and I even screwed up and put in WAY to much baking powder! (I didn't have self rising flour, so I used the recipe that reviewer ADRI122 left) Very good biscuits! This will be my new go to recipe :)

Fried Rice Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
I just got my appendix out a couple of days ago and wanted to make something quick and easy, so I went ahead and made this super simple by using minute rice cooked in chicken broth, and I used canned carrots and peas. It was still very good. I also added some minced onion, garlic powder, and just a sprinkle of celery seed. Next time I think I'll use frozen peas and carrots and I'll use brown rice. But, like I said, very good. The whole family enjoyed it :)

Parmesan Spinach Balls

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
These were great! I used fresh spinach and I didn't chop it very well so mine looked a little funky, but they were still delicious :)

Balsamic Bruschetta

This was very good and also super fast and easy. I cut the recipe down to 2 servings and had this for lunch. I toasted the bread in a pan with some olive oil. So good!

Cajun Crab Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2010
These were great! I made a few minor changes...I only had plain breadcrumbs, so I added extra garlic powder and some dried minced onions, also, I didn't have colby jack cheese so I used some meunster that I needed to use up. I also used real canned crabmeat and I had a 16 oz pkg of mushrooms and still had quite a bit of filling left over. Very yummy though and I will make them again :)

Sy's Challah

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
This turned out very good! Didn't make any changes other than the egg wash because I don't have a pastry brush...that's why my loaves aren't very pretty and shiny. Used it for french toast and it was awesome!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
This turned out excellent. I made a few changes out of necessity...I used 1/2 plain yogurt for the sour cream because I ran out, I only had 3 eggs, and I didn't use any chocolate chips. It was really nice and chocolatey and I just topped it with some powdered sugar. Easy, simple, and super good :)

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
This was awesome! I made it as written except that I did saute the veggies in some bacon grease or a few minutes before adding the clam juice and water. Also, in place of 1/2 teaspoon of the salt, I used bacon salt for a little extra bacon flavor. It turned out great and I will definitely use this recipe anytime I make clam chowder :)
