My favorite things to cook
Dessert, of course! Unfortunately, my metabolism doesn't allow for too many treats, so I'm always on the lookout for healthy alternatives.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Getting together with my family to bake and decorate sugar cookies for Christmas. We always start out taking our time and decorating them all nice and pretty, but we bake so many that by the end, we're usually just slapping on frosting and sugar! Of course, there's plenty of "taste testing" that goes on to ensure good "quality control"!

Successfully pulled off my first Thanksgiving meal in 2009!
My cooking tragedies
I once made a batch of deviled eggs using what I thought was sugar, but was actually salt! The yolk mix tasted funny, so I kept adding sugar to try and sweeten it, but it kept tasting worse and worse until I finally figured it out! I had to throw the whole mix out and start over again! Doh!

Beef Nacho Casserole
Delicious! Took other reviewer's suggestions and used lite sour cream instead of mayo, and used rotel instead of salsa. Also added a layer of refried beans on the bottom. Yum!!! Will definitely make again!

Soft Oatmeal Cookies
Delicious!!! Made half with chocolate chips, and half with craison and white chocolate chips. Both turned out amazing! Followed the recipe exactly (the cinnamon is the secret ingredient!), except I just froze the dough in the freezer for 10 min while the oven was preheating, then used a cookie baller instead of pressing flat with a fork. Be sure to take the cookies out when they are just beginning to turn brown around the edges. Then let cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring. So good!

Italian Pasta Salad I
This is fantastic! I made it to bring to a party, but I barely had enough to bring because I ate so much of it beforehand! The only thing I changed was to added halved cherry tomatoes to the mix. Thank you so much for posting this recipe!!
