About this Cook
I love to cook but I'm one of those cooks that puts in a little bit of this or that and never writes it down. My family calls it Mom's Surprise when I do this. I make alot more bakery items than I used to and I am trying different recipes. I bake so much sometimes that I have to test it on the neighbors because my family gets sick of me trying the same recipe over and over until I feel it is just right.
My favorite things to cook
Cheesecakes are my favorite to make, but it's been pies lately! It's been cold outside so I bake more often.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love our Christmas eve dinner candlelight and crystal. It's a festive time and I can put on a big dinner spread with lots of deserts for my family.
My cooking triumphs
I finally figured out what my Great Aunt did to make her chocolate chip cookies fantastic. She would never give up her recipe and it took me quite a while and lots of cookies to figure it out.
My cooking tragedies
Dropped a chocolate cake on the kitchen floor....oops....what a mess. Ran to store to buy a desert before guests arrived.

Cranberry Nut Bread II
We loved this. The orange flavoring was just right. I only had two small oranges and was only able to squeeze 1/2 cup of juice but it was still perfect. I also added 2 tbls. of veg. oil to make sure the bread was moist.

Apple Pan Betty
This is a quick, easy, great tasting desert. I use it alot when I need a quick desert. I have made it quite a few times and we prefer it made with raisin bread.

Key Lime Pie VII
This was so easy! We loved it. I squeezed out enough juice in ony 6 limes. Baked it a little too long waiting for the bubbles to surface and burst but it still came out great. Next time will cook for 10-12 minutes. Thanks for something quick and easy to make which is great for hot summer night.
