Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
Everyone loved this! I added extra fruit - 3 kiwis, 12 ounces raspberries, 3 apples (2 braeburn and 1 granny smith) and I had some frozen peaches to use up so I chopped up some of those also. I only had 1 lb of strawberries but wish I had more, they were surprisingly good for this time of the year! I kept the jam amount the same and just sprinkled some brown sugar over the top. I also tossed my apples with lemon juice, just in case, I didnt want them browning up at all. The tortilla chips with cinnamon and sugar were wonderful also! I can't wait to make this again and try some different fruit combo's.

Death by Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
Super easy (I used the microwave for the heavy cream and choc. chips) and tastes delicious! I made in a pie pan and had some leftover mousse for the family members that have to eat gluten free. It was a hit with the kids and adults!

Authentic Tabbouleh

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
araxjan - I love this! You are right, it tastes so much better the next day! Its lemony and fresh tasting! I did not add as much parsley and mint as I was afraid it might be too strong for me. After I had it all mixed, I thought I might like a bit more bulgur, so I added maybe a couple Tbsps more and let it soak up all the tomato juice and lemon juice. I also threw in a bit of cucumber, just cause I was eating it as my main meal and had some to use up. I will make this again, I will love having it with some good flatbread and hummus, thanks so much for sharing!

Spicy Garlicky Garbanzo Bean Soup Recipe chef chicklet - CHOW

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
Cut the white pepper way back, start with 1 tsp and you can add more if you like. Dry Sherry (not cream sherry) adds a nice taste but is optional. You can use 1 T. of thyme if you do not have herbes de provence. Easy to make and freezes well.

Lebanese Lemon Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2011
This is pefect! I was trying to recreate a salad I had and couldn't get the dressing quite right. This may be it, and even if it's not, I don't care, it worked perfect for my salad (cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers). I did add a tiny bit of sugar and extra garlic as I love a strong garlic taste!

Roasted Red Pepper Spread

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2011
I am new to canning and gave this recipe a try. It is delicious!! I ended dipping my bread in it, but I know I will love it as a pasta sauce, pizza sauce or for just dipping bread into. I may even try making soup with this.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
Our family loves these cookies! I do half shortening and half butter and add 1.5 tsp of vanilla, keep the rest the same. Mine are done around 10 min. Mine do flatten out but we dont mind, the outside is crisp and the inside moist and flavorful.

Crooked Moon Mama: Veggie loaf love!

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
I left out the mushrooms and added a can of lentils. Then I threw an egg in to make sure it would stick together. I made individual loaves in my muffin tin and did the brown sugar/ketchup topping. I loved the topping and the spices and seasonings are pretty spot on - I may play around with it, but was pretty happy with it.

Berries 'N' Cream

Reviewed: May 21, 2011
Super easy and delicious! I made this for a party and served it as a dip for fresh cut up fruit. People loved it and couldn't believe it when I told them it was just sour cream and brown sugar. I did add a tsp of vanilla and I used dark brown sugar. It had a wonderful, caramel type flavor.

French Pastry Pie Crust

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
This is the best homemade crust I've made so far! It tasted good, was flaky and looked beautiful (I brushed it with milk and sprinkled with raw sugar). I used this for a mixed berry pie and it was perfect! Thanks so much for the wonderful recipe! Can't wait to make another pie! The only thing I did different was use 1 tsp of salt instead of 1.5.

Alabama Fire Crackers

Love them! So easy to make and so much flavor. I did take the advice of using less oil, I poured in about 1 cup - but everything else I did the same! These are dangerously addictive!

Habanero Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
I'm having a hard time figuring out how to rate these...the sugar cookie part is wonderful (though I added a bit extra vanilla and rolled in raw sugar) but the habanero part is just too much! I doubled the recipe and used 15 habanero's instead of 20, I did the milk bath twice (thanks for that tip, very helpful). I love the bites I get with the slow heat, but I get bites with the overpowering heat that just ruins it for me. I minced the habanero's super fine too. Its a fun idea and I was excited to try for a "fire" themed party :) I'll see how they go over with everyone else. I think they'd be 4 star with 1/2 or even 1/4 the amount of peppers. I topped mine with a lime glaze in hopes the sour/sweet would help a bit with the heat...haha, tastes good but didn't help! Be sure everyone knows what they are getting into when they eat one of these :) OK - one day later and I took them to a class, they went over very well!! I wish I could give this 3.5 stars - definitely worth trying if you are thinking about it!

Spinach Basil Pesto

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2011
Wonderful pesto! I've make it without cheese as I don't care for it, and it's delicious! The first time I also left out the pine nuts as I didn't have any, and the second time, I used toasted walnuts. I add extra basil and just taste as I go to see if I need to add any extra garlic, salt, lemon juice, etc. I dont use all the oil and like to keep some texture, so its not pureed till smooth. Its wonderful on the "Unique Spinach Noodles".

Unique Spinach Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
My first attempt at homemade noodles! I followed DarcieA's advice - used my food processor, did not cook the spinach and did not add any water. I rolled out by hand and cut with my pizza cutter (without rolling first). I let air dry for a bit and then bundled into individual serving sizes, placed on a parchment lined baking sheet and froze (placed in plastic bags once frozen). To cook, I got my water good and boiling and dropped the pasta in frozen, it took mine just a bit over 3 min to cook. I loved it but found it too thick, I may need to invest in a pasta machine to get it thin enough :-) Cant wait to try this again! Its such a pretty green color!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
I finally got around to trying this - it is the best pizza crust I've made! I used my bread machine and let it rise in the machine - rolled out for my large pan with holes - it made a thicker type crust, very bubbly, next time I'll prick with a fork before baking. I baked for 10 min at 475 and then topped it and baked till cheese was starting to brown. Crispy on the outside and bottom and light and airy on the inside - thanks for the wonderful recipe!

Couscous Salad with Dried Cherries

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
Quick, easy and delicious! I added some baby spinach and used quinoa instead of couscous - kept everything else the same! I used 1 cup dry quinoa, simmered in 2 cups veggie broth for 15 min. I think it would be delicious with couscous or even orzo pasta! I also chopped the dried cherries up as they are pretty large. Update : day 2 - didnt care for the mustard taste and the cherries - I had to change my 5 star to 4 - its still good :) I will leave out the mustard next time - the flavor was much stronger after sitting over night.
