Sugar and Spice Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2006
The flavor of the muffins was decent, and but it was easy. So it gets a three star for that. The muffins look more like biscuits than muffins. It has a rough and crumbly exterior. I wouldnt not make this again, sorry.

Jam Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2006
I used strawberry jam to make the muffins. They were very moist and had a nice look to it. I added a bit more jam than the recipes called for and omit the sugar, since some reviewers said that the taste was bland. Maybe because the jam's sugar content, the muffins was a bit too sweet for me. It was pleasant, but wouldnt repeat it again.

Seven-Up® Cake II

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2006
The cake was really good. I cut back a cup of sugar, and increase the soda to 1 cup. I used two eight inch round pans and bake for 45 minutes. It was kind of hard to get out of the pan, but tasted pretty good. Maybe cut back on the lemon extract next time. My family said that it was strangely addictive too. :D A keeper, will definately repeat.

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2006
I made this tonight with the golden potato soup from this site. Very simple and tasty. I made quite a few changes. Instead of red wine vinegar, i used white vinegar (i didnt have any red). I used french bread and mozarella cheese inplace of swiss and rye bread. Very good, a keeper.

Egg-Yolk Sponge Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2006
The cake was pretty simple to make, two stars for that. However, the taste is another story, it was horrible. The texture of the cake was rubbery like a previous reviewer said. The cake was hard and very dry. I tried to add some liquid down into the cake, and it didnt help much. A big disappointment and waste of supplies. Wouldnt make this cake again.

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2006
I didnt have any anchovy paste, so i omitted that. It was really good, kind of spicy. I would leave out all the spices, except for a 1/8 of ground black pepper. Overall, very nice. I will use this again

Butternut Squash Soup II

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2006
The soup had a nice smell and color to it. Maybe i added too many of the other things, and not enough of butternut squash. I couldnt taste the butternnut at all. It was kind of disappointing, because i love butternut squash. Will keep on searching

Angel Food Cake III

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2006
The cake was a bit time consuming. It smelled really nice in the oven. The cake was pretty good, a bit too sweet for my taste. Probably cut back on the sugar next time. My cake also started to shrink after taking it out of the pan. I dont know what is wrong with it. Except for substituting the cake flour for all purpose, i follow the recipes exactly. Will try this again.

Lemon Sugar Tea Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2006
I made the cookies again, and it turn out really good. The first time i made these, they were puffy and had a bitter after taste to them. This time i decrease the oven temperature (my oven seem to be 25-50 degrees off), and they came out flat. Would make this again.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2006
mmmhmm... this is so delicious! While this was baking in the oven, the smell just filled up the whole house! I added 3-1/2 banana to it, rather than 3. It's so soft and moist too. The only problems that i have with the muffins are the amount of butter in it and the topping. The muffins were kind of grease (i used cupcake liners) when i was handling them. I also want able to get the topping to a crumble texture. I even added another 1/3 cup of brown sugar to it, but ate all of the sugar and cinnamon (form into something smiliar to a well kneated dough). parts where the topping was, also made it shrunk down. However, overall, it was really good.

This is the first time that I made alfredo sauce before. The parmesan cheese was a trouble to melt. Overall the flavor was pretty decent. Will not make this again.

Chewiest Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2006
As the name is, these brownies are very chewy, and not to mention dense. I had to put the brownies into the oven for an extra ten minutes. The top of the brownies were really hard too, almost like a sugar coating. The brownies also crumbled very easily. I had to layer the crumbs with vanilla bean ice cream. However, the taste did some how make up for them. Probably will not make them again, unless upon request.

Tuna Egg Sandwich

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2006
This was a pretty good as a base. I cutted back on the eggs(used 2),added a bit of black ground pepper, some pickles (didnt have any sweet relish to the mixture, and a bit more mayo. I topped it on slices of french bread. I would probably add a bit of chedder cheese next time. It has potential.
