Refreshing Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2012
The recipe looked promising..but no. I took one reviewer's advice and allowed the cukes and vinegar to drain after marinating for one hour. It was not soupy but too bland.

Cindy's Awesome Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2012
Being an elder and lazy, I used prefried and crumbled bacon (SAMs Club) 16 oz sliced carrots from frozen food section and on low card, no potatoes. Added 1 cup diced celery at last few minutes for a mild crunch. This is so good and obviously versatile that next time will sub clams with shrimp bisque or lobster bisque.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew III

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2007
I have a 3 qt slow cooker and this filled it up. Used low sodium beef broth instead of water. No mushrooms 'cuz others in family don't like them but I did add one parsnip. Ya gotsta have a parsnip in beef stew...mandatory. Cooked on low 10 hrs during the day which is the same as overnight...duh! Added about 1 cup of instant potatoes during last 1.5 hours to thicken. Also added half cup frozen peas at same time. Beef was nice and tender and veggies not overcooked. Servings left over were put in freezer. This will be a standard at our house. Can't give it 5. Seldom give anything 5.
