Perfect Crab Cakes With Green Onions

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
OMG!!! These were so wonderful, my FI had never had crab cakes before, I trick him though, I also cooked salmon patties for him. I slipped in one of my crab cakes and he took a bite and said wow this is good, but what is it. I said "something you said you didn't like" :). He couldn't believe it and neither could I when I watched him eat it all.

Southern Potato Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
Believe it or not this was my first time ever making potatoe salad, my mom always prepares it, but this time she ask me to do it. So for Christmas I used this recipe, I thought it was a 5 star recipe for my first time, I added minced onions and celery flakes and I omitted the garlic, only because my mom does not care for it, that was hard because I put garlic in everything. But all in all I thought it was very good and so did my family!!!

Grandma's Corn Bread Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2007
The only thing I do different is mix my cornmeal and buttermilk to make a batter. Instead of making cornbread, I fry them like fritters or pancakes, then I crumble and followed with directions, adding some of the giblets also, and extra sage. Oh I also addd green bell pepper.

These were just ok for me a little dry and bland also, I would try again changing up the spices some, adding green peppers, more onions, steak seasoning etc etc.....

Simply Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2007
This was great!!!!! very simple and one of the best baked chicken breast dishes I have tasted. I use Italian seasoned bread crumbs and left out the Italian seasoning, I dip my chicken in butter instead of egg. Also I added onion powder, paparika and seasoning salt to the dry mix. Very very Good!!!!!!

Dry Spice Rub for Lamb or Beef

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2007
This was pretty good, I made up a lot, so I would have more later. I used it this time on lamb chops that I grilled over wood coals. I also let the rub stay on the chops overnight before grilling. Very tasty.

Very basic, but yet tasty, I did not add the pickle relish, but added a couple of pinches of sharp cheddar cheese. and I added 2 tbs of low fat mayo instead of one. Topped on triscuit crackers for a quick and easy snack/lunch.

Easy Bacon, Onion and Cheese Stuffed Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2007
Great burgers, I spice up my ground chuck a little more with different seasonings, I place the stuffing in the middle only and I grilled them. But the best thing I get out of these burgers is, watching people faces as they reach the middle while eating. SURPRISE!!!!!.

Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Gravy

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2007
Really good, I added a few more seasonings to the flour, such as garlic powder, cayenne pepper, paprika and onion powder, and for the gravy I use chicken broth in place of the water sometimes, it adds a different flavor. I also think letting your chicken rest in the buttermilk overnight adds something to the final outcome. Great fried chicken dish!!!!.
