Chicken Scampi II

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
Can I give it more than 5 stars? This was DE-LISH!!! We served this over angel hair pasta and had steamed broccoli and garlic toast on the side. The whole family LOVED it! The only thing we did different was to add more garlic - to keep the vampires away!!! :o) No, seriously we always add more minced garlic to any dish that calls for it, so maybe for most people what was in the recipe should be just fine. Want to impress someone with your "culinary skills" but cereal is your best dish? Surprise them with this! Very simple and OH SO GOOD!!!

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2007
These were good - I don't think that we would write home about them - but would make them again if the taste arises! (Just a note to others who may be not as cooking savvy like me.... if you double or quadruple the sauce like I did - plan to adjust the reduction time as well. Didn't quite clue into that until DURING the process!)

Ultimate Spicy Spud Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2006
This soup was really good. Had to make 2 batches though, accidnetally added Sweetened Condensed Milk instead of Evaporated. (Don't try this at home kids!) Other than that, the second batch was definately worth the effort!

Neat Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2006
We loved this recipe! It saved us a trip to the store tonight for the "store bought" mix or can, and we won't make THAT trip ever again! The whole family loved them! The only substitute that we made was for the tomato soup, we used a can of tomato sauce as someone else suggested. They didn't turn out very "neat" but a simple fork fixed that!!! Definately a keeper and thank you for the recipe!

Hot Fudge Sauce from EAGLE BRAND®

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2006
MMMMMMMMMmmmmmmm!!!! I had a need for some chocolate sauce for the vanilla ice cream that was calling my name! I came across this, happened to have all the ingediants, and found Heaven on Earth! This is the BEST! (I forgot to add the water, so it is kind of thick). We put it in the microwave a serving at a time just until heated and more saucey than pudding-y. The family has declared...No More Store Bought Chocolate!

Cheese Garlic Biscuits II

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2006
Husband loved these and thought that he could almost eat those exclusively for a meal...I thought they were a little heavy and would have liked them to be a little fluffier. Still thought they were good though!!! *****Added thought...I used a baking stone and had absolutely no problem at all with "stickage".******

Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2006
Definately the best stew I have ever had! (Also the 1st one I have ever made!) I added chopped celery to it - but that's all. We think that it would be AWESOME served in a bread bowl on a cold winter day. It seemed like a lot of work, but man o man was it worth it!!!

Deadly Delicious Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2006
This was a hit tonight at dinner. The husband and the kiddos all had seconds and were miserably stuffed! I did make 2 pans of lasagna and froze one. No one else mentioned it that I saw, but to do the second pan I needed another box of the noodles. Other than the 2nd box of noodles I didn't change a thing. Next time though I will make sure to use CHOPPED spinach instead of whole. The whole didn't mix very well through it. Live and learn. :o)

Chicken Parmigiana

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2006
This dish was so good! I did add basil, onion powder, garlic powder, a pinch of red pepper flakes, a little pepper, oregano (I think that's about all) to the bread crumbs and my whole family just RAVED over it! I served it on top of spaghetti. Definately a hit!

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2006
Can I give this more than 5 stars??? I have made this recipe now a couple of times...the first time was for my son's 9th birthday party. He isn't a fan of cakes and icecreams and that sort of thing so birthdays are always a little difficult to make goodies for! However, he LOVED these brownies as did the rest of the group! One child in particular swooped in for a FOURTH piece! I am forever DONE buying brownie mixes! This recipe is the BEST!!!!! Thank you!!!!

Homemade Crispy Seasoned French Fries

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2006
I made these last night for my family - I had to cook them much longer than stated in the recipe, which was totally no biggie since I had anticipated that from the other reviews. We thought they were OK, nothing to write home about. However, we did agree that using the batter on onion rings would have been a far better choice than using it on the potatoes. The *picky eater* (our 6 year old) did come back for seconds, so that is the reason for the 4 stars. I would have given it 3, but like I said, if it is tried on onion rings I think that it would be ALL of a 5 star recipe and more!!!!

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2006
Fabulous! I made enough for 8 pizzas - used some on the pizza for dinner that night, gave one away, and froze the remaining 6 *servings* in individual freezer bags for a quick fix on hectic nights! Our kids (9 and 6) LOVED the pizza!

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2006
Although not a HUGE fan of spinach and artichoke dip, my husband is, so I made this for him. I used the Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce recipe from this site instead of buying it. The whole thing turned out FABULOUS! He swears it is the best dip he has ever had! I really liked it too! He loved the fact that it didn't have a layer of oily fat on the top like so many places serve - and he believes it is because I used the alfredo sauce instead of mayo. I don't know about that, all I know is that it is a hit and I wouldn't change a THING!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2006
I made this alfredo sauce to use in the Spinach and Artichoke Dip Restaurant Style from this site. It made enough for two batches of the dip - so I froze one batch to use at a later time. My husband is amazed at how awesome the dip was, and asked how to make the alfredo sauce. He said that the sauce DEFINATELY made the dip AWESOME!

Pita Chips

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2006
These are great! I did have to buy Chervil, but other than that this one time, these chips are very economical and MUCH better than the store bought with all the preservatives! These are the best tasting pita chips I have ever had! Thank you for the recipe!!!

Chicken Piccata II

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2006
We would give this many more stars than 5 if we could! We had never had picatta before and had no idea what we were in for. Turned out to be just FABULOUS! We did take the suggestions of others and doubled the sauce, we added 1/4 cup of capers and a small can of mushrooms. We served it on top of noodles with steamed broccoli on the side. EXCELLENT!!!

We did need to increase the bake time a bit on this, but other than that we loved the veggies! I HATE sweet potatoes and yams - but sure did gobble it up cooked this way!!!
