About this Cook
I'm a foodie. I love all things culinary. I prefer savory foods and I am a sucker for sweets, although I don't enjoy baking too much. I love texture in my food, especially crispy and crunchy. I could spend more time in grocery stores and markets than at the mall. Will travel for food.
My favorite things to cook
Most recently: seafood, American comfort food, and anything deep-fried!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We eat 5-6 small meals a day! There is always an overabundance of food at gatherings and if you are a guest, we will try to feed you from the moment you walk in the door!
My cooking triumphs
My first cake from scratch! I think it was a Hummingbird Cake? I couldn't believe it was so easy and tasted that much better. Still not a huge fan of baking, though! ;)
My cooking tragedies
There have been quite a few episodes where I've melted plastic, charred food, and set towels on fire.

5 stars. No changes. So easy to prepare/cook and it is delicious! This is perfect as is!

Shrimp and Feta Cheese Pasta
To make this even easier, I used two cans of italian diced tomatoes. Have tried fire-roasted tomatoes w/ great results. I also up the wine to 1/2 cup and use a little more feta. Very good..will make again!

Strawberry and Feta Salad
This was very good! I had some raspberry jam I needed to use up, so I used that in place of the raspberry vinegar. I also used a big clove of garlic which was very overpowering and made the dressing somewhat spicy. Next time, I will use a smaller clove or garlic powder/salt. I will also serve the strawberries on the side as they got soggy.
