Lowcountry Shrimp and Cheese Grits

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2012
Loved this! Couldn't find the garlic cheese spread, so I used the garlic butter spread and just added about 1/3 cup of parmasean cheese to the grits. I did saute shallots and chopped garlic in the pan before adding the shrimp. It was very yummy!

Scotch Eggs

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2012
These were wonderful and fun. The only reason they don't get five stars is that the recipe amounts are off a little bit. I used ONE pound of sausage and had plenty of coating for six eggs. Other than that, it was spot on. I served it with the mustard sauce found on this website with another scotch egg recipe. Take the other reviewer's advice and lightly flour the eggs before covering them with sausage.

Way too much work for the solidly average result. Sorry.

Oatmeal Coconut Thin Crisps

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2012
Divine! Increase the coconut by 50% and use small dollops of dough, otherwise the cookies will be huge. Perfect tea cookie, even though they aren't particularly attractive.

Dip For The Stars

This is amazing and will get loads of compliments, but the ingredients will set you back between $30-$40. Fair warning!

Neptune's Favorite Crab Bisque

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2012
Let me start by saying that I have *never* written a negative review on this site, but I feel one is in order here. I should have known better than to try a recipe that starts with condensed soups, but I was in a hurry. It was bland, tasted "unfresh" and my partner looked at me with a "REALLY???" expression on her face....even after I doctored it with garlic, shallots and Parmesan cheese. To the reviewer who said this tasted like "restaurant quality", they are right.....it tasted like a concentrated blob that someone added milk to. Sorry, but I will not make again or recommend it.

Creamy Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2011
Delicious with a couple of slight changes - I added thyme and some rosemary. I also sauteed some garlic in with the shallots, it seems to make it much richer. Delicious though!

Seriously....how can you go wrong with this ingredients list? Used buttermilk instead of regular milk - Yum.

Spicy Vegan Potato Curry

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2010
Very yummy, quite spicy, but we like that. I will say that I did add some tumeric to the finish because the color is pretty unappealing otherwise.

Vegan Cupcakes

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2010
Very delicious! Expensive to make because of the coconut oil, but if you're a vegan, I suppose you're probably used to your ingredients costing more. Didn't use the recommended frosting instructions, went with a vegan chocolate frosting that I found on another website - delicious.

Positively excellent and easy as can be. Will become a "must have" when we make our Indian food feasts (every couple of weeks!) at our home.

Banana Split Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
Five stars with very slight modifications --> Made a double batch and so: 1/2 cup extra bananas, 1 extra egg, chopped marciano cherries and a snick more chocolate chips. It came out excellent and beautiful. Thanks for the great recipe!

Easy Indian Style Okra

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010
This is very good but you do, absolutely, have to double the spices. It's not spicy-hot, it's spicy-flavorful and without doubling the seasoning, it wouldn't be either. Thanks for the nice recipe!

Ice Box Fruitcake

Super sweet and good but it's almost too rich. I'd make it again. I threw some currants in because I had them and it was a nice touch.
