We really liked this, great comfort food on a cold day. Read reviews and decided to only use one cup of liquid. Actually used a beef bouillion with one cup of water since many found gravy too liquid. Placed onions, carrots and potatoes in bottom of crock. Spread half of liquid mixture over vegies. Salted and peppered the roast, rubbed with flour and braised in evoo, then put in crock. Topped with the rest of liquid mixture. Our roast was smaller so the cooking time was less. Came out perfect. Will make this way again. Thanks.
