Toasted Pumpkin Seeds with Sugar and Spice

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2008
We just finished making these and the kids absolutely loved them! I used butter and evoo. The sugar mixture in the pan didn't want to melt very well so I added a few splashes of water and that did the trick. Great recipe. This was the first time I've made toasted pumpkin seeds. Thanks!

Hot Water Cornbread

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2008
I found this recipe when I needed a bread to have with dinner, but didn't have much on hand. This recipe saved the day! I've never had cornbread "fried". Hubby & kids all thought is was absolutely wonderful! We ate it with butter, but the kids had to try it with butter and syrup. WOW! I just can't say enough how wonderful this tastes for such a simple recipe.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2007
This was wonderful!! I did change a few things, however. I used a can of cream of chicken and a can of cream of celery - it's what I had on hand. I added a 16oz container of sour cream with peppers, onions, garlic, and green chilis. This was excellent. Easily adaptable to your families tastes. Thanks for sharing!

Cincinnati Chili I

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2007
This was wonderful!! I was skeptical at first, but it was as close to Skyline Chili as you could get at home. I omitted the bay leaf and the allspice only because I didn't have any on hand. Next time, I will try it that way. I also used less chili powder due to the kids. Excellent recipe, thanks for sharing! Now, we can have Skyline even when we don't go back home to Indy.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2007
This makes the best pizza dough I've ever tasted! The kids beg to have a regular weekly homemade pizza night! My daughters friend was here for dinner and has raved to her whole family and now her mom wants the recipe. I add garlic powder and pizza seasoning to the flour and it turns out wonderful everytime!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2007
This was the best bread I've ever tasted. I've not had much success making bread in the past, but this was simple and delicious. I used self rising flour as it was all that I had on hand and it came out wonderful. The family devoured one loaf right out of the oven!

Shrimp Linguine Alfredo

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2006
I will NEVER use a jar alfredo again! I substituted heavy cream instead of half & half, as it was all I had on hand and used shredded parm. Next time I will try half & half. It was an absolute hit with the kids!

No Bake Cookies III

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2005
This is the best no bake cookie ever!! I don't bake very well and if I can do these, anyone can! I actually made 2 batches and wasn't paying attention with the second batch and forgot to add the white sugar to boil, (holiday stress i guess lol) I added it at the end and added a little more milk and peanut butter and oats and they set up just as perfect as the first batch! Will definately make again. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Pork and Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2005
This was on the bland side. Although everyone ate it, it probably won't make a usual in our house. I think it might be better with only cream of mushroom and no cream of chicken.

Cinnamon Bread I

This recipe was great. My kids loved it very much. I had to change a few things. I didn't have enough sugar on hand, so I did half white sugar and half brown sugar. I also added 2 teaspoons of cocoa powder. It was wonderful.

Easy Apple Cinnamon Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2005
This was the best muffin ever! I only used 1 med - lg apple and it made 14 big muffins. I added just a little extra milk and about 1/4 extra baking powder. I will definately keep making these muffins! It was so easy, I'd never made homemade muffins before and these were a hit!

Chocolate Rum Balls I

Reviewed: May 31, 2005
I made this recipe for a few memorial day cookouts we went to. They were an abosolute hit. Everyone loved them. I didn't use walnuts as we don't care for them much, but replaced it with finely ground (in the food processor) honey roasted peanuts. A++
