Dill Vegetable Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2011
This is so delicious! I didn't need to tweak anything! The flavor is so great, I could eat raw veggies all day. My new go to veggie dip. You've got to try this!

Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
This was delicious! I've been on a smoothie kick since I've been pregnant and this is definitely one I'll be adding to my rotation. I did have to decrease the oats and grind them first because I'm not big on the bits of chewy stuff, but it's a great concept to add oats to make it more filling. Edited to add: This is NOT a smoothie you can put in the fridge and come back to if you don't finish it. The oatmeal gets really thick and becomes pretty gross and grey. Definitely want to drink this when it's fresh!

Easy Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
I decided to cook this dish AFTER seeing the word "easy" and AFTER reading the most helpful reviews. So I knew going in that this wouldn't be like authentic red beans and rice and I knew that I would have to spice it up a bit. With that being said, I gave this 5-stars because it's a great base recipe and it's truly very easy, which is much appreciated when you have a big family to feed. Plus, this kind of reminds me of chili, which is a dish you have to make your own. If you like to spice up foods and add your own touch then this might be a good dish for you. The changes I made were: I used smoked beef sausage and drained the fat before adding the green peppers, onions and garlic, I used canned red beans because that's what I had in my pantry, and I added a couple of sprinkles of hot sauce, cajun seasoning, and cumin. My family loved it! Even hubby liked it and he's quite the "food critic". Thanks for this stress-free, family-filling and frugal recipe!

Bow Tie Pasta with Broccoli, Garlic, and Lemon

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
It needed some more ooomph, perhaps adding butter as someone suggested and perhaps red pepper flakes. It was however, a quick and easy side dish when I didn't have ingredients for anything else. Thanks!

Garlic Salmon

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2010
This was so good and flavorful! I didn't have fresh dill so I used dried and I left out the green onions, with those being the only changes I made, I like that this tasted good and was so easy to make and the salmon was juicy instead of dry. My filets were very thick, but thinner cuts would probably need a lesser cook time. I'll definitely be making this again.

Apple Crisp III

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
It was ridiculous for a recipe this simple to taste so good! I did change the white sugar to half brown and it was a little too sweet. So I'll decrease the amount of sugar. Granny Smith apples would probably make a difference too! Overall, this is a good simple recipe that's easy to tweak to one's own individual liking.

Sunshine Toast

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
This is a really neat recipe that the kids and I loved! I followed someones advice of using a pot lid to cook it more thoroughly. We don't like runny. :( It tastes delicious with a little drizzle of syrup.
