Jam Filled Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2011
Great butter cookie! I filled mine with nutella (after baking of course!) and topped with a vanilla glaze! Delicious! They held their shape perfectly during baking. I only refrigerated the dough for 10 min, but I used real butter and it was still slightly cold.I made the hole in the center with a chapstick lid as others suggested and I also added the 2tsp of vanilla and 1/4 tsp salt as other reviewers suggested. Baked for 9 min at 370. I have also tried this with a lemon curd filling added after baking and they are wonderful too!!

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2011
I rarely ever write negative reviews, but this is not what I expected after reading all of the reviews. I followed the recipe exactly and it tasted like seasoned mayo. Not good. Noone in my house liked it. Maybe with the buttermilk it would taste more like ranch and less like mayo?

Tater Tot Bake

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2011
Good as is. Better when you mix in the soup and milk with the beef and onion. I also added half a bag of frozen mixed veggies and 3/4 cup of the cheese to the meat mixture. Layered that in a 13x9. Placed tots on top. Baked for 30 min. Took the casserole out, placed remaining cheese on top and added crumbled bacon. Baked another 10 min. Success!

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2011
Best meatballs ever!! I liked the recipe as stated minus the hot stuff since I have little kids. I also made it with the addition of one egg and it was even better. There was a bit of a tougher texture without the egg.

Chicken Fried Steak with Cream Pork Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2011
Not wowed by this. The breading was good, although my family prefers a bit more salt. I guess we are just used to the traditional cube steak version. The steak tenderloin version here is just too strong a beef taste. I like a more mellow beef flavor for this particular dish. Sticking with cube steak next time, but will use the breading recipe again with more salt.

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2011
This is an EXCELLENT cake. Not dry AT ALL. I am sorry to say, but if your cake was dry it was due to error on your part. I followed a lot of the reccomendations and all of the instructions to a T! I beat the butter and sugar with a hand mixer for 2 minutes. I also replaced the water in the recipe with strong coffee. I also seperated the eggs and whipped the egg whites and folded them in at the very end when the batter was complete. I made 30 cupcakes out of this recipe. They were delicious. I baked them at 350 for 18 minutes and perfection! This cake requires effort, but it is light, fluffy, moist, and delicious!!

I followed the ingredients in this recipe exactly and my family LOVED it. There is no zucchini taste at all!! It reminds me of an apple cinnimon cake. Moist and delicious. I baked it in a 13x9 at 330 for 1 hour.

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: May 3, 2011
This was great as long as you cut WAY down on the black pepper. My advice is to add your pepper slowly and taste as you go. Other than this the flavors are awesome. I hate onions so I added a tsp of onion powder to the butter and it worked out great! I didn't find the amount of soy sauce to be excessive at all. If you like chinese food, you will love this.

Blackened Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2011
This was good, but be warned it is SPICY! I love spicy food so this was a hit with me, but the kids couldn't tolerate it. I grilled it instead of baking it and it tasted really good!

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
I loved this recipe and it couldn't have been easier. I used a bag of frozen mixed berries and baked it for exactly 50 minutes. Perfection! The only thing I did was to stir the butter into the batter a bit before topping with the berries and sugar. Don't know if it made a difference, but the cobbler was fantastic! It baked completely (no doughy center) and was not overly browned on the edges! Thanks for the recipe!!

Snickerdoodles V

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2006
They turned out great! Soft on the inside, but cooked through. Perfect! I cooked them for 10 min and 15 sec at 375. The only thing I did different was to leave out the salt and add 1 tsp of vanilla to the creamed mixture of butter, sugar, and eggs. Wonderful recipie. Will definitely use again and again.

Corn Fritters

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2006
Not bad overall. It did remind me of funnel cake with corn in it. It would make a nice base for little fried doughnuts it you leave out the corn. I followed other reviewers advice and used 1/4 cup sugar.
