About this Cook
I work in publicity and marketing in the music industry. This does not leave me much time to cook, so I cherish the time I can spend in the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new things. I've become enamored of Italian and Meditteranean style cooking, and my thick and tangy marina sauce garners rave reviews. My eggplant parmigiana is definitely my best, though time consuming to prepare, so the end result is especially sweet.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family has an Eastern European background. Due to that, I cook a lot of chicken soup! My mom is a prolific cook and I hope to carry on that tradition.
My cooking triumphs
I have always wanted to cook but was never very successful at it. I immediately wanted to follow my own instincts instead of directions. My ultimate triumph was learning to follow directions and then follow my own instincts, and not the other way around. Now everyone compliments me on my cooking!
My cooking tragedies
I once forgot to put sugar in an apple cake I baked for my family. Oops!

Ima's Potato Salad
Hi All - This is the original recipe poster, here. Just a note about the Israeli pickles - these are NOT Kosher pickles. They are usually imported from Israel, or they are noted as Israeli-style. These pickles can be found in the international or Kosher sections of many supermarkets. You may also be able to find them in the refrigerated section, where hummus is sold (Sabra brand). These pickles don't have much of a vinegary bite to them, hence the amount of mustard called for in the recipe.

Light and Fluffy Spinach Quiche
Delicious! I added chopped bacon and baked in a gluten free crust.

Meatloaf with Fried Onions and Ranch Seasoning
This meatloaf was much better than anticipated after reading the reviews. The ranch dressing mix leaves a nice, tangy aftertaste without really tasting ranch flavor. The onions keep it moist. I didn't have stuffing on hand but breadcrumbs were a great last minute substitution.
