About this Cook
I'm a vegetarian with a love for Indian, Thai, Italian, and especially all those good homey things I had growing up, but I'm mostly a baker at heart.
My favorite things to cook
I love adapting my childhood favorites into vegetarian meals. I use a lot of Quorn brand foods, and highly recommend them to anyone who can get their hands on their products. My family refers to me as an enabler because I am constantly baking and offering up treats.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was young I would visit my grandmother, and one of our favorite activities was baking bread. I still think breadmakers are a sin! I grew up experimenting in the kitchen and never gave it up. My favorite thing is holiday cooking with my mother and sisters, where every bit of food is 100% homemade.
My cooking triumphs
My chocolate chip cookies are a favorite of my family. I'll really be proud the day I make the perfect cheesecake!
My cooking tragedies
Most of my attempts at cheesecake are tragic--something always goes wrong! Cake in general is hard for me, so if I give a cake five stars you KNOW it's fool-proof! Don't even ask about my petit fours adventure.

No Bake Cookies I
LOVE these. I've been making them for years out of an old cookbook I've had forever, but I managed to lose it so I was ecstatic to find it replicated online. Thank you!

Easy and delicious! I made no changes and it came out perfectly.

Heavenly Chocolate Mousse
I forgot this was on the stove and managed to cook the yolks and nearly burn the chocolate, and it was STILL delicious (after a bit of straining, of course--yuck cooked yolk bits!). I can't think of a more decadent dessert than this mousse topped with fresh whipped cream and some shaved chocolate.
