Beef and Bean Chimichangas

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2015
The only change I made was adding diced steak leftovers in with the onion and bell pepper. My husband is in love with these! He wants me to make them weekly now. Fantastic recipe.

Sauza®-Rita

Great drink! I used a Corona for the beer. I usually hate it when people do this, but I made two simple changes: I used a gold tequila instead of the one in the recipe, and used lemonade concentrate instead of limeade. I only did this because it is what I had on hand. The drink is essentially the same, so I am giving the recipe five stars as is and for my changes both. It's so smooth, the intoxication kind of hits you out of no where.

No changes besides halving the recipe. Wonderful cookies! A big hit at Xmas.

Coffee Mug Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2014
I really love this idea. I added a couple drops of lemon extract and omitted the topping, replacing it with a sprinkle of powdered sugar. I am surprised at how tasty this was, if a bit chewy. Okay, very chewy, but the taste and the fact that I had a piece of cake to eat five minutes after reading this recipe more than make up for that.

Sensational Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2014
Without my few additions, it is a little bland. Still good, though, so three stars for the original recipe. I added half an onion, minced, minced garlic, and plenty of basil. I threw the veggies, onion, and garlic in the pot with some unsalted butter and cooked it for about five minutes, then added the broth and seasonings and followed the rest of the recipe exactly. With these changes it gets four stars, easily. I will certainly be making this again.

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2014
Not awful. I omitted the hot sauce and used an egg instead of the milk. I also cut back on the red pepper. I think there was still too much red pepper. This recipe is not bad, just not even close to being 5 stars.

Banana Muffins II

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2014
I like them, but they are kind of bland. I did add cinnamon (1/2 tsp) and vanilla extract, but apparently not enough of it. Oh well. For how simple the recipe is, they are good enough. Moist and smell great, as well.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2014
Great recipe. I omitted the onions, but went by the recipe otherwise. The meat was so tender and the gravy was delicious.

Simple Buttermilk Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2014
Great coffee cake. I made this this morning because my in laws came over for coffee. For the topping, I added cinnamon, brown sugar, and cocoa powder. I also substituted brown sugar for half the white sugar. With the changes I made, this recipe gets five stars. My in laws are very impressed with it. As am I.

Hard Lemonade

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2014
My husband and I love this. Very sweet and yummy. Totally worth the work. I am not sure why the other reviewer's was so sour. I wonder if her lemons were supersized or she used a smaller pitcher than I did or something? Ours is definitely lemony, but more sweet than anything.

Manicotti

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2014
Not bad at all. I added basil and garlic salt, but made no other changes. My husband was very happy with it. Just make sure to use good quality sauce for best results. Edit: The second time I made this, I halved the ricotta and replaced it with more mozzarella. This made it less like meatless lasagna and more like the ooey gooey manicotti served at Italian restaurants. I also only cooked the pasta halfway before stuffing. This meant less ripped pasta and more cheese stuffed into each tube. The pasta cooked the rest of the way through in the oven and came out perfect. I added basil, garlic salt, and minced garlic to the cheese mixture as well. My dinner guests were very impressed. With these alterations, the recipe is definitely five stars. It tasted like restaurant quality manicotti. Three and a half stars for the original recipe, though (I rounded up).

Followed the recipe exactly, crumbling the peanut butter cups on top. It is pretty darn tasty.

Quick Skillet Chicken and Macaroni Parmesan

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2014
Great simple and quick meal. My husband was so impressed with it that I plan to never tell him (unless he outright asks) it is just canned chicken, noodles, and jarred sauce. I did add some seasoning, just sweet basil and garlic salt. I used penne pasta.

Hamburger Soup II

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2014
3 1/2 so I rounded up. It would be five stars with the changes I made. With the changes, I loved it and so did my husband. I added a diced yellow bell pepper just to get rid of it, can of diced tomatoes, and two beef boulion to the water before mixing it with the tomato sauce. In between layers of veggies, I added generous amounts of seasoning: Salt, pepper, garlic salt, onion powder, sweet basil, thyme, and seasoned salt. This is a good base recipe, just ad more seasonings and it is great.

Snickerdoodles III

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2014
The cookies look great, and they taste okay. I have had much better snickerdoodles for sure. I think there is too much cream of tartar in this recipe for one thing. It leaves an odd aftertaste that I don't like. There also seems to be something missing here. I haven;t figured out what it is yet, but the cookies are just a bit too bland.

Pepperoni Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2014
My husband looooved this and I was pretty happy about it as well. I used pizza dough I had in my fridge already and baked for 25 minutes. Fantastic. Next time I will try it with bread dough, if I can find some frozen stuff anywhere. The store I regularly go to does not carry it.

Danny's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2014
I made this on the stove tonight. I added a half cup of milk and some butter to make it creamy. My husband hated it, but he thinks Kraft mac n' cheese is the greatest thing to ever touch his tastebuds, so I am not suprised really. I thought it was good. Simple cheesiness cannot really be bad, can it?

Brownies In A Jar

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2014
Not bad at all. I made this today with one slight change. I had a chocolate craving and no chocolate, so I was looking for brownie recipes that do not involve chocolate chunks. I hate brownie recipes that are nothing but sugar. You can't taste the chocolate with too much sugar, so I cut waaay back on it. The brownies were good. Would make again.
