Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
Great flavor, not so great cooking method. I think I will do the chops in oven next time. The stove top made them tough. My husband rated it 3 1/2 stars, but said he would eat it once a week. I said why did you only give it 3 1/2 stars then? He said well it's not steak! Thanks for sharing!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Wow! I would actually give it 4 1/2 stars. I think that it needs a little more spice. I will try a little more cinnamon and maybe some nutmeg next time. Will definitely make again!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2010
Wow! Worth the wait for sure. Only change was I used one pound of plain ground pork in addition to the beef for the meatballs. I increased the sauce as well. Will make again, and again, and again!

The Best Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
Wow! My picky son said that this tasted better than a local diner that is known for their CFS. He ate two steaks and the hubby showed great restraint from a second helping! The gravy was the perfect consistency, but needed some extra seasoning. Thanks for sharing!!!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
Thank you for a great comfort food recipe. There was a too much sauce for 4 potatoes, however too much sauce is better than too little! I gave it four starts for flavor. I think that it is a little bland with cheddar. Next time I will play around with a stronger cheese. Overall nice!

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2010
This was my first time ever making sugar cookies. I am glad that I added an additional tsp of vanilla otherwise the baking soda would have been over powering. Next time I will reduce the soda to 1/2 tsp. Otherwise super easy and good.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2010
Way too sweet and I am a sugaraholic! I would cut the sugar in half. I wasn't impressed with the overall flavor, so altered it to my families liking.

All-Around Good Smoothie

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2010
Love this recipe! The recipes is great as is, but my family likes to add extras to it. Instead of honey we add vanilla and splenda. We like the combination of frozen strawberries, bananas, and blueberries best. Enjoy!

The Best Potato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2010
This is easily the best homemade recipe for potato salad that I have made. I would have given it 5 stars but had to add some additional ranch and spices to it. I loved the peppers in it. I left out the olives for my husband, but am anxious to try it with the olives in it. I also added celery.

Banana Muffins II

This recipes is a great base. I gave it 4 stars because without the addition of spices and an extra banana, they would have been bland. Thanks for sharing!

Cuban Ropa Vieja

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I am sorry but this was just not that tasty. The meat was tender and no complaints there, but the flavor of the sauce was bland and just tasted lifeless. I will not make again.

Chicken Cashew Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2009
Loved it! I used light miracle whip, red bell pepper, omitted the onion, grilled the chicken, added pineapple tidbits, fresh mandarin oranges, and a little seasoned salt. I left the rest the same as original recipe. Next time I will stir in some chow mein noodles!

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2009
Cake balls are definitely not a replacement for a homemade cake, but if you are used to the boxed variety then they would be an acceptable replacement. My 12 yr old son exclaimed "awesome" when he popped the first one and was quickly crushed to find out that the rest were to be taken to a birthday party! I assured him I would make them again. I used only 3/4 c frosting in the first batch of yellow cake/fudge frosting. In the second batch of german choc/german choc frosting I ended up using the entire can because the cake wasn't as sweet on it's own. I used nestles semi sweet chips and shortening to coat. On the german choc balls, I only dipped half the ball and then rolled that end in chopped pecans. All in all they were worth the effort and look nice, but are no match for a real cake!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
My husband loved this soup! For time savings I used 4 cans diced potatoes. I discovered in the midst of making the soup that I did not have enough milk, so I substituted heavy whipping cream. Cream is never a bad thing! I will make this again.

Mexican Shrimp Cocktail

I recently took this to a wine tasting party. The guests loved the recipe and requested it. I used frozen shrimp and added 3 avacados prior to serving. This is a keeper!
