One Hundred Thousand Calorie Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2003
I have made several slices in the last couple of days and this one rates as my husbands favorite. How can you go wrong with chocolate chips, caramel and nuts? I did bake it the extra 5 minutes as was suggested in several reviews. It will be a repeat here many times I am sure!

Peanut Butter Chips and Jelly Bars

This is at least a 6 star!! Talk about a comfort food at its best. This is easy to make. Try it.

Salted Peanut Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2003
This is very tasty--the nougat is better than many nut rolls that I have bought, so I gave it a 5. However, I did have many peanuts left in the bottom of the pan when I cut it. I gently patted some of the nuts into the cut sides to give it more crunch and it really does taste good!

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2003
OK, this is a 6 point recipe! WOOHOO!! I have been baking today to take slices to a wedding buffet. I am dieting and this is the ONE that I decided I would taste and I think I made a very good choice. Now I have to get it into the freezer before I get back at it. Try it, it is well worth the minimal effort it requires.

No Bake Peanut Butter Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2003
These turned out to be very tasty. I used a healthy 2 1/2 cups of rice krispies. I think it may be better with milk chocolate, but got no complaints as is!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Squares

My family gives a thumb's up. They are not on my diet so I only get to drool!! I used 1 1/2 cups of milk choc. chips as another reviewer suggested and it covered nicely.

Mexicali Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2003
I thought this was great. I also added a cup of black beans as one reviewer suggested. It does need spice, so added garlic, salt, pepper and chili powder to the veg. mixture and put the chili directly on the chops-yummy. I would be happy with the mixture over the rice as a meatless meal. Weight Watcher friendly, points depend on size of chop.

Groovie Smoothie

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2003
This is so good it is almost sinful!! I used frozen blueberries instead of strawberries, but when I have strawberries I will also try those. My husband does not like blueberries or yogurt and had 2 glasses--what he doesn't know won't hurt him I guess! Thanks for the recipe.

Pineapple Sheet Cake II

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2003
We really liked this cake--not too sweet. It could not be easier to put together. I used it for an adult's birthday cake with Cool Whip on top. It will def. appear again in this household. Weight Watchers---4 points for a good size piece. Enjoy guilt free!

Vegan Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2003
This is very good! I ran out of chili powder, so used a bit less than 1 tblsp. so also went a bit less on the cumin in an attempt to maintain the balance of flavors. Consequently I thought it needed a bit more spice, but my husband thought it was spicy enough. We will definitely be eating this again (likely with a bit more spice). Weight Watchers--4 points per cup is the way it worked out for me.

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2003
Very good. I did decrease the oil to 1 tblsp. and added about 1/2 tsp. cumin. It made about 10 cups of soup. Weight Watchers: (with 1 tblsp. oil) this works out to be 2.5 points per cup in my calculations.

Barbecued Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2003
This recipe gives an unusual but nice flavour to the pork chops. I am not overly fond of nutmeg, but glad I didn't cut it down because it added a nice aroma and taste. I did add an onion sliced in large pieces and some pepper. I will make this again--Thanks.

Tasty recipe--everyone liked it. It is not extraordinary, but easy and worth repeating. Fresh peaches would, of course, make the difference!

Creamy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2003
I enjoyed this dish and gave it 5 stars for tasting very good with only 3 ingredients. I did add fresh mushrooms (sliced them thick and used them as a cushion under the chicken). Before adding the soup I removed about 1/4 cup of juice from the mushrooms. I covered for the first part and then removed after the soup was added. I will def. make again--a nice, simple comfort food. Weight Watchers--5 points and gravy!

Todd's Famous Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2003
We all enjoyed these pancakes and liked that I could work them into my Weight Watchers program--1/6 of a recipe is 3 points, so per/pancake depends on how big you make them. You can have a nice breakfast or light supper and not count too many points. We had them with lean ham.

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2003
This is not a recipe I enjoyed. My husband said it was strange, but not bad strange. My son liked it and said he thought it would be a nice company dish. There you have it, very mixed reviews. However, I won't be making this one again. By the way, it is 5 points for Weight Watchers.

Banana Prune Muffins

These are very good--moist and flavourful. I will def. make again, may try dates instead of prunes but the prunes were fine. Forgot to share the Weight Watcher points! 4 points per muffin. Thanks Lisa.

Baked Salmon II

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2003
I would like to give this one at least 6 stars. It was very good. I did decrease the olive oil to 1 (one) tablespoon and decreased the salt to 1/2 teaspoon and I can not imagine it tasting any better. I marinated it in a plastic bag and kind of massaged the oil mixture into the salmon and then left it for an hour. I may decrease the pepper a wee bit next time. For you fellow Weight Watchers I calculated the points for a 6 ounce fillet to be 8.5. ***That is the points using 1 tblsp. of oil for the 2 fillets. Enjoy! Thanks Norma.

Grandma Grippin's Brown Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2003
My family loved this pudding and say it is a def. keeper. It was very easy and i had no problems with the sauce being too thin. I may add a wee bit of vanilla to the sauce next time and of course, butter makes everything better! A nice cake-like top with caramel sauce. Yum!
