Sourdough Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2014
Don't add the water until after you add the powdered milk. Usually just the liquid from the starter is enough to make a thin batter, at least at the texture I keep my starter. I've been making these for years whenever I have a starter going. Good way to keep my starter fresh.

Cracked Wheat Sourdough Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2014
Every bread recipe needs salt. I added my normal 3/4 tsp salt/loaf. Without salt the bread will rise way to fast and have a dead flavor.

Christmas Turtle Candies

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2013
I modified these a bit. I was using leftover carmel apple caramels that were melted with milk and these are nice and soft. These would be better if you toasted the pecans first then added the carmel.

Corn Dogs

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
Good corndogs. My batter was very thick. I needed to add about 2 tablespoons additional milk so that the batter wouldn't be too thick on the hotdogs. Got about 11 corndogs total, not 16. Used 365° oil for about 3 minutes.

Sourdough Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
This is a good base recipie for a lot of fun scone options. Definatly not a biscuit, but still tasty. I added 1 Tablespoon sugar. I think they would be amazing with about 1/2 c. dried cranberrys and 1 tsp orange zest added it. Or 1/2 blueberries and 1 tsp lemon zest. Both my favorite scone flavors.

Coffee Shop Fudge

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
I managed to make this in a college dorm room with nothing but a food storage container, a plastic spoon, a disposable cake pan, and a microwave. It turned out pretty good. But it's just not real fudge. Pretty good for the circomstances though. Also my microwave must have been strong too because i put my nuts in, I also used walnuts, and after 1:38 seconds they were starting to burn on the bottom of my bowl. So i recomend stopping the toasting after 2 minutes.
