Yum! Perfect side dish for fajitas. I forgot to boil the rice in chicken broth, and it was still delicious!

Cheesy Brat Stew for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2007
My husband and I really enjoy this. I like to use brats that we grilled the day before, because it gives the stew a wonderful smoky flavor. For those users who complain that it's too greasy: Do not stir in cheese until the end of cooking. I usually add it in the last 30 minutes and turn the crockpot to high. You can also use half cheddar and half american cheese (which melts and incorporates better). That way, the cheddar flavor comes out, but the stew is rich and creamy. Hope these suggestions help!

Crawfish Chowder

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2007
I made this with chopped shrimp instead of crawfish, since I had the shrimp already. Comes out wonderfully rich and creamy. Only downside- not exactly healthy, but worth the indulgence every once in a while!

Mmm...so good! I served with coconut rice, preparing long grain rice to package directions and substituting about half of the 2 cups of water with coconut milk. Just perfect!

Ham with Honey and Brown Sugar Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2007
So delicious! Ever since I found this recipe, it is the only ham recipe that I've used. I make the glaze in the microwave, then pour it over the ham in a roasting bag. I then cook per package instructions. So tender and juicy, and the glaze tastes great as a gravy for mashed potatoes or over a ham sandwich maade from leftovers.

Fruited Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2007
We liked this recipe. I made for company, and everyone enjoyed it. Just be careful that the chicken breasts don't overcook and fall apart. Looks more appetizing as whole chicken breasts with some of the sauce served over top.

Sausage Casserole

Yummy! Perfect for Christmas brunch. I've made this twice. The first time, I followed the directions exactly, and it came out nicely. The second time I baked the hashbrown layer first. It made a huge difference. I fed 5 adults on Christmas morning with this, and they all loved it. Thanks for the recipe!

Sugar Coated Pecans

Mmm... these are so good! I've made this recipe several times now, and they always come out fantastic! I substitute vanilla for the water, and I add a couple shakes of ground nutmeg and ground ginger. My husband always asks me to make these on weekends. They never last long!

Apple Betty

A great recipe for non-bakers! Came out fabulous, everybody loved it when I served it at Thanksgiving. However, I halved the sugar called for, and it was plenty sweet enough.
