Vegan Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
These were very good pancakes. I picked the recipe simply because they do not include egg which my son is allergic to. After making the batter I thought it was too thick to actually make "fluffy" pancakes but I was wrong. They came out very fluffy. Also, I thought when making the batter that there was way to much sugar but added it all anyway. I'm glad I did. They were sweet but not everly so. Thanks for a great tasting and simple to make recipe. Will make these often.

Spinach and Mushroom Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2007
I am giving this 3 stars because it helped me develop my own great recipe. This was a good concept but I changed it quite a bit. First, I wilted 3 8oz. bags of baby spinach adding no butter or oil, put in strainer and pressed water out. Then I sauted 8oz. sliced mushrooms with the 1/2 onion called for, added 1 minced garlic clove the juice of 1/2 a lemon and a few drops of worcestershire sauce (last 2 ingredients were suggested in one of the reviews I read). Mixed spinach into mushroom mixture. Put in casserole dish and topped with the cheese. I did not use any butter and only a tiny bit of olive oil with the mushrooms! It still was a little greasy I guess from the cheese. But the flavor was fabulous. Next time I will omit the cheese called for and just sprinkle with parm-regg. Thanks for the base recipe but I can't imagine all that butter.

Quinoa, Beet, and Arugula Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2012
Very good! We enjoyed this salad. Used Agave, about a tsp. Used regular quinoa as I didn't have red and cut the oil in half. Also, did't use any goat cheese. The flavors went very well together. Will make again. Thanks for the recipe!

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
We love these meatballs! We've been making them for over a year now and they are perfect for our family as my son is allergic to eggs and this is one of the only recipes I've found that doesn't include eggs. I decrease the pepper flakes to just a pinch since my three year old is eating them. They have a nice flavor compared to a lot of other meatballs I've tried that seem rather bland. Thanks for the recipe, LTH!

Baby Greens with a Warm Gorgonzola Dressing

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
Sooooo GOOD! I loved this. At first when I tasted the dressing I immediately thought, too sweet. However the gorgonzola catches up quicky making it a wonderful combination of salty, tangy and sweet - PERFECT! Also, the dressing processes up nice and thick and doesn't seperate! As far as the salad part goes, I had to omit the nuts(allergy) but did add a sprinkle of green onions. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

New Potatoes with Caper Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
We rarely rate things 5 stars but when you are ooohhing and ahhhing while eating something it deserves it. Wow! We absolutely enjoyed this. Even though we were using baby new potatoes we still cut them in half after cooking to maximaize the ingredients soaking into the potatoes. Also, we melted the butter with all the ingredients except the parm, added the potatoes to the warm butter mixture, sprinkled in the parm and then mixed it all together. Holy Moly were these good! Very fresh and rich. Also, only used 1/4 of butter due to diet restriction and they were still perfect! Thanks for the recipe! Will make again and again.

Easy Asian Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2007
I hate to say this about someone's recipe but this was absolutely horrible! I made to go along with "Asian Lettuce Wraps" and after tasting it I threw it away before it even got to the table and made "Oriental Dipping Sauce" from this site instead which was great! This had WAY too much rice vinegar it just did not taste good at all to me way too overpowering. Sorry for the terrible review but I've got to be honest.

Steak Tip Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
We made this last night on the grill. It was pretty good but I found the marinade didn't penetrate the steaks much and I let it marinade at least 4 hours. Since we liked the overall flavor, next time I will just reserve a little of the marinade to use as a dipping sauce. Thanks for the recipe!

Fried Cabbage with Bacon, Onion, and Garlic

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
This was good. I did drain a little of the bacon grease prior to adding the cabbage it just looked like too much grease for me. As far as the salt goes, I only added about 1/2tsp. at first (I was only using 1/2 a fairly small cabbage. AT first, before simmering for 30 minutes it tasted just right for us. Then, after the simmer, I tasted before serving and the salt had almost disappered so I added a few sprinkles more. I can see if you have a huge cabbage where you may need quite a bit. Thanks for the recipe

Baja Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
This was a great sauce! After letting it rest for 5 hours I tasted it and it seemed a little bland for me. We added 1&1/2 tsp. more of the pureed mixture to the mayo mixture. As well as an extra 1/8th tsp. eash of cumin and garlic powder. We let it sit about 2 more hours and it was great! We served this with Southwestern Eggrolls from this site and they went well together.

Russian Chicken with Feta Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
This chicken has a great sauce! I did add a little more vodka before simmering the sauce as mine was too thick. Also, I doubled the garlic and replaced the dried parsley called for with fresh. We LOVED it!!! Definitely double the sauce if serving over so mething like pasta or rice. Will make again and again! So good! Thanks for the recipe.

Flat Iron Steaks Marinated in Red Wine

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2008
We really loved this marinade! I used it to marinade the flat iron steak to use in the "Flat Iron Steak and Spinach Salad" from this site". Will use again especially for that recipe. We marinated it for about 5 hours and it had just the right amount of flavor, not too strong and not too mild. Thanks for the recipe!

Marinade for Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2007
This was pretty good marinade. I changed the servings to 10 instead of 32. I followed the ingredients and measurements exactly but then added 1 clove of garlic and 1TBS. of honey. Will be making this one again!

Gourmet White Pizza

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2008
LOVED this recipe! Used fresh pizza dough instead of a pre-baked crust. Also, omitted the chicken and used wilted fresh spinach instead. Add a small sprinkle of mozzerella about 1/4 cup. Other than that followed the rest of the recipe What a great sauce! I will make this again for sure. Thanks for the recipe.

Oven-Roasted Root Vegetables

Roast Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
I alway thought that I hated, loathed, dispised, pork roast. My husband bought one and I grudgingly prepared it using this recipe. I had planned to just eat side dishes for dinner. After making a scene like a little child, I reluctantly tried a bite and to my surprise, I LOVED it! So tender and flavorful. Thanks so much for the recipe! Next time I will cut the sugar in half but it was still fantastic the way it is.

Krystal's Perfect Marinade for BBQ or Grilled Chicken

Overall the flavor was good. However, next time I'll cut the sugar in half. Too sweet for us. This may be the cook eror though... Marinaded longer than the stated 2 hours.

Flat Iron Steak and Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
This was great! After removing the peppers, onions and mushrooms from the pan there wasn't really any dressing left even though I used a slotted spoon as directed. So, I mixed the wine and a 1/4 cup dressing in a small sauce pan and simmered 'till syrupy as the recipe calls for. Next time though I will let the dressing settle first and remove most of the oil as the wine sauce was a little oily (I used Robusto Italian by Kraft). Also, I will wilt the spinach just barely before topping with everything else. The blue cheese was amazing on here and the cooked veggies were a nice change. Will make again with those 2 changes! Thanks for the recipe! Oh, and before plating I thought the wine sauce tasted a little odd but it was delicious once on the salad and mixed with everything else!

Very Yummy! The only thing I did differently was to omit the sausage. Also added a touch of parsley to the ricotta mixture. Will make again. Thanks for the recipe.
