Serious Herb Cheese Spread

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
Eat this only if you love very bold flavors! I do, and I really liked it. I made it for an appetizer on an ordinary night, but this could just as easily be a star on a Christmas buffet table.

Basil Dill Coleslaw

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
I liked it. It's different than a typical coleslaw, which is why I wanted to try it. I didn't love it, but I liked it.

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
Everyone was silent at the dinner table when I served it, and that's a bad sign at my house. (Nobody wanted to hurt my feelings.) I won't be making it again.

Caramel Apples

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
These were delicious, of course. Mine didn't set up according to the recipe instructions, though. Even though I smudged the caramel around the apple after they initially puddled, it still puddled. Maybe it would help to refrigerate the apples after they're dipped. My family ate them anyway, and loved them.

Spicy Lamb Patties

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
This was very similarly spiced to a dish at my favorite Indian restaurant. I did up the spice slightly, since so many other reviewers suggested it. I also tried the yogurt sauce, and it was an authentic accompanyment to the lamb. Loved it!

Easy Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2007
Loved it! I used 2 or 3 Hershey candy bars, regular size. I cut them into long, thin strips, then again into very small pieces. It froze perfectly. The candy wasn't too thick or too hard to bite into...it just melted along with the ice cream in our mouths!

Italian Biscotti

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2007
I had to devote about 2 hours to making this recipe, but it was worth it! It makes a lot, too, which is great. I made them for an "Italian Night" dinner at my house, and they were very well-received. After they were cooled, I drizzled melted milk chocolate on them. Pretty and delicous!

McCormick's Simple Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2005
This is a good, basic recipe. I added 1/2 teaspoon of lemon extract, because I knew I'd like it better. The fact that you don't have to chill this puts it over the top!

Barbeque Pork Two Ways

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2005
My family had an outstanding dinner when I served this! I put it on San Francisco-style sourdough rolls, and it was awesome. This one isn't just getting printed out. It's getting cut and laminated, because I don't want to chance losing it!

Classic Fish and Chips

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2005
This recipe is every bit as good as something you would get at a restaurant. It's really simple, which is nice. I found it took more time to cook than the 25 minutes listed, but it was worth it. Three of my kids, who "don't like fish" liked this, which is why I give it a 5!

Turkey Posole

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2005
I have made the pork version of this, so it was great to see turkey. I like both of them. This just has a good, spicy flavor that even my 4 children liked. Not too spicy--just enough to give a little heat! I didn't have poblano chiles so I had to sub Jalapenos. I'll try the right kind next time!

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2005
I loved this soup. I was sneaking tastes left and right while cooking! It was rich and creamy but not at all heavy. Delicioius flavor!

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2005
This crust isn't as "bready" as some other homemade crusts. It tastes really good, and can be done completely in one hour. Be careful when transferring it from counter to pan; it's very tender!

Sue's Hot Fudge Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2005
Mmmmmmmmm..what a great sauce! I agree with the reviewer who said you don't need ice cream, just a spoon! I did make one adjustment. I used 3/4 cup real butter instead of 1 cup (that's all I had), but it didn't make a difference. This fudge sauce is superb. It only took 20 minutes from start to finish, which is also great.

Pad Thai

Reviewed: May 6, 2005
This wasn't exactly what I expected. My husband made this last night. Is the recipe really supposed to have 1/8 CUP of red pepper?! We put wa-a-a-y less than that, and it was plenty spicy! It was okay, but I'll probably keep looking for a Pad Thai recipe.

Vanilla Ice Cream IX

Reviewed: May 5, 2005
Wow, I love this one!! The lemon extract gives this a totally unique, unexpected flavor. It's tasty! If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would. My family renamed it Lemonilla Ice Cream. I'll absolutely be making it again.

Simple Maple Syrup

Reviewed: May 5, 2005
Thanks, Kristy! This is a really nice recipe. It is very simple and quick. I read the other reviews and changed it slightly the second time I made it. (I add a tablespoon or so of corn syrup to thicken it.) It's my oldest daughter's favorite syrup!

Creamy Italian Dressing I

Reviewed: May 5, 2005
Didn't care for this one so much. I did substitute the red wine vinegar with balsamic vinegar...maybe that's why. Still, I won't be making it again. It just isn't tasty. Not horrible, but not good.

Snow Cone Syrup II

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2005
This is so good!! I will never buy snow cone syrup again. This recipe is simple, fast, and tastes perfect. Plus it's really cheap! My husband LOVES it. So do our 4 kids! This is going to be made weekly in my house!
