Graham Crackers

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
So many possibilities with this. There are two problems with this, though. One, the dough might not make it into the oven (c'mon, I can't be the only one that does that!). Two, 12 minutes didn't crisp them enough to make it a "cracker." The taste was so good that I'm willing to make this recipe again-you know, for the sake of research.

Crunchy Whole Wheat Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
The weirder the name of the recipe, the more I want to try it. When I grew up, cookies were always sweet, most had chocolate, and they were usually soft and chewy. All good. This was very different but in a GOOD way! They're less sweet than I'm used to, and they are excellent with milk or coffee. And, yes, my children who like sweet, chewy cookies that usually include chocolate DID like these, too.

Bar-B-Q Baked Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2010
At first, I was going to give it a 4 because I baked mine for less time than the recipe says, but it came out dry. I added liquid (water) and stirred it. The taste, however, is delicious and deserves a 5. I've made this kind of beans many times and have never thought to add chili sauce. Knowing to bake for less time than it says, though, is really a plus so I'm rating it a 5!

Raisin Soy Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2010
It didn't turn out well at all. The texture was weird, the taste wasn't good. Nobody in my family would ever eat it. Really disappointing.

Taco Bake I

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2010
Based on another reviewer addition, I also added rice. Plus I tossed in a can of corn. It was incredible the way my family liked it! I served it with both tortillas (for burrito style) and blue corn tortilla chips.

Homemade Vanilla Extract

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
Easy. I used it for the first time today (after the beans had been in the alcohol for about 4 weeks). It smells fabulous and tastes great. I put it in my rice pudding!

German Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
My family couldn't keep their hands off of this, which we all know means...exactly what you want from a recipe!! It set fairly quickly, but not quick enough for us, so I froze it for 20 minutes or so to be able to eat it sooner.

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
This pie forms an amazing cookie-ish layer on top and is so delicious! For me, it blew the corn syrup varieties away.

Orzo with Parmesan and Basil

Really good. It was pretty quick to make, but it's one of those recipes that look and taste like you spent a lot of time!

Indian Saffron Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
It wasn't tasteless, but it was bland. Didn't like it and I seriously wouldn't make it again.

Chocolate Pumpkin Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
I made this for a birthday party and didn't tell anyone the "secret" ingredient until someone complimented it! My sister-in-law thought it was so good, she asked me to make her daughter's cake (instead of buying one at a bakery this year)!! Oh yeah, it's a keeper!

Peppermint Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
This blew me away. My daughter (for her birthday) requested that I add chocolate chips, which I did. Everything else I kept the same. It was wonderful!

Five Ingredient Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
Really creamy and smooth. My husband said it reminded him of Ben & Jerry's vanilla. I stirred it every hour and a half, until it got too firm to stir. Loved it!

Chewy Caramel

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2009
My family was a bit mixed about it. My oldest daughter loved it! I was kinda on the fence. It served its purpose. I actually made it to put into another candy recipe, which worked well. However, to eat it alone, it just wasn't great.

Five Minute Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
I loved this so much! I added about 1/2 cup more cream to get the instant consistensy I wanted, and that's all I changed. It also hardens nicely in the freezer, if you can hold back from eating it right away! Delicious.

Marshmallow Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
These are really yummy! Absolutely delicious and special. I did have an issue with gooeyness, but only in the center. I cut & removed (to our mouths!) the entire outer strip, then put the remaining amount back in the oven for another 15 minutes. A little extra effort, yes, I know. Totally worth it!!

Indian-Style Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani)

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2008
It was pretty good, but not what I thought it was going to be! I was looking for the butter chicken taste from my favorite Indian restaurant. This isn't it, but it IS good.

Fresh Ginger Cookies

I'm eating one right now. Mmmmm. I love the use of fresh ginger. They're soft and chewy; not bakery-cakey. Very yummy. I need to go get another one!
