My favorite things to cook
My favorite thing to make is probably cookies! I have a severe sweet tooth, which isn't always a good thing. Once I think I have a favorite cookie recipe, I seem to find another.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I really love to cook with my husband. He discovered his enjoyment of cooking shortly after we married. I encouraged him to feel free to use whatever he liked in the kitchen. Since then, he's really gotten into it! We're in the kitchen together nearly every day. I like that our kids see their dad in there, creating and learning. He has his specialties now, and I have mine. We complement each other so well.
My cooking triumphs
After I learned to cook and bake basic things, I taught myself how to bake bread from scratch. It wasn't easy, but it was fun! I used to give my oldest daughter, then 3, a tiny dough ball and she would knead hers along with me. so cute! It may not seem like a huge accomplishment, but for me, it was. It gave me the confidence to try different ethnic foods, fudge and other candies, and the ever-difficult to master pie dough. If I hadn't mastered the bread, I never would've been able to go on to all those other deicious things!
My cooking tragedies
In my first year of marriage, I "cooked" chicken so long, I actually blackened the glass dish so badly that I threw it away. I had only one cookbook then, and was too ashamed to call my mother and tell her I didn't even know how to make something as basic as chicken! My obsession with recipes began after that (and my husband was so glad).

Fresh Lemon Bundt Cake
I made this exactly as stated in the recipe (no modifications) and didn't love it. The consistency was that of a pound cake (no problem there) but the flavor was bland. I probably wouldn't make it again unless I did some major changes.

Lemon Pie I
This is so yummy and easy to make. How would it not get five stars?! You could just as easily pass this off as lemon cloud mousse to your family if you didn't want to wait for it to firm up...just throw it in cute bowls instead! If you CAN wait, it's really good once it's been in the freezer all day. It doesn't actually freeze solid and so it is quite easy to slice.

Armenian Lentils
These make a nice vegetarian dinner. It needs the yogurt topping to cool your mouth a bit, so don't skip it! It's pretty peppery.
