Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2006
Oh boy have I stumbled on something. I did substitute more beef broth (2 cups) and added a 2nd seasoning packet of Italian as recommended. When ready to serve, place meat on an open faced piece of bread (hoagie style), then add a few sliced up peppercini's. On top of that, I added swiss on some, provolone on others. Stuck them in a 400 oven for 5-10 minutes to melt the cheese and crisp up the bread. Wow was that a great way to serve these. I used the reserve juice and served it au jus style. Got such good compliments and it dressed it up enough for company at an Oscar party!!

Best Beef Dip Ever

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2010
Wow, this was so simple, yet so delicious. I will be making this and have already passed on the recipe. I put the beef on open faced foccacia bread with a few pepporoncini's. I covered each with a slice of swiss cheese and put it in the oven for 5 minutes. Dipping in au jus just puts it over the top!!

Chocolate Devil Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2010
At Christmas time, i substitute the vanilla extract for peppermint. I tint the filling with some red food coloring and then roll the sides of the finished sandwiches in crushed peppermint!! They are the hit on my cookie plates! You can also use chocolate fudge cookie mix, just as good!!

I liked how thick this was. It was very good. My kids prefer the buttermilk version on this site - The Absolute Best Pancake Syrup is our standbye, but it was fun to try a new one.

Easy Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
I grew up going to the county fair every summer. The big draw at the fair was the FFA's homemade ice cream. This is identical!!! It is so good, I cant believe how simple it is. You must try it, just as it is!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
I made this for the Superbowl and it was superb. I had read other reviews prior to making it. Many suggested to cut in half because it made so much. It was gone quickly so I had to go back and make more. Dont believe them, make the entire batch, as it WILL get eaten. I did cut the spice almost in half and it was still perfect!

Delicious pound cake. Do not overmix and you have a creamy, soft and flavorful dessert! I added another 1 tsp vanilla and substitued almond for the lemon flavoring and made it in a bundt pan to rave reviews. Used it for strawberry shortcake.

Cherry Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2007
Out of this world!! This is so good, cant say enough about it. I quartered the cherries to make them go farther. You also need to heap the salt in order to balance the taste. This was a birthday cake and I had to pair it with icing so I could decorate. I used the White Chocolate Cream Cheese frosting from this site. outstanding!!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2007
Turned out great. Double the ham and definitely use half of the pepper it calls for. I also added cheese to the roux before I poured it into the pot. I had some fresh rosemary on hand and tossed it in and added some garlic powder per other reviewers. A hit with the whole family!

Currant Scone Mix

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2007
I was so happy to find this!! I make the All Day Apple Butter from this site and then can it to hand out as gifts to teachers. I wanted a biscuit/scone mix to put in a jar with the yummy apple butter (be sure to cut the sugar in half if you make that.) This was great. You do need to heap the sugar or it wont be sweet enough. I also used Butter Flavor Crisco for some extra flavor. Cranberries were on hand and they worked great. Definiteley a keeper. Thanks

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2006
This was so fast, it didnt take close to the time shown. I did pour some terriyaki in a ziploc with the chicken for about 2 hours, as well as cooking fresh bacon and crumbling. Then proceded as the recipe stated. Very good!!
