Currant Scone Mix

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2007
I was so happy to find this!! I make the All Day Apple Butter from this site and then can it to hand out as gifts to teachers. I wanted a biscuit/scone mix to put in a jar with the yummy apple butter (be sure to cut the sugar in half if you make that.) This was great. You do need to heap the sugar or it wont be sweet enough. I also used Butter Flavor Crisco for some extra flavor. Cranberries were on hand and they worked great. Definiteley a keeper. Thanks

Slow Cooker Barbeque

Very simple to make! Tasted good on sandwiches. My cut of meat did not shred with a fork, I had to cut it all up in small pieces, which was a pain.

Stuffed Tomato Basil Chicken

This had everything I love in it. I have no idea why the end result wasn't fabulous. This just had no flavor, I will not make again.

Drip Beef Sandwiches

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2006
We really enjoyed this. I put it on a piece of fresh bakery bread then put a slice of provolone on top. I put it in a 400 degree oven to crisp up the bread and melt the cheese. I served the au jus on the side and it was a hit! All the salt in the recipe scared me, but it flavored it perfectly, not too salty at all.

Zippy Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2006
This was fine but I have had better egg dishes. I did love the simplicity of the croutons in the bottom. I subst. italian sausage that I removed from the casings to add more flavor. But still, just okay for us, nothing spectacular.

Orange Pecan French Toast

This tasted fine, but the bread just tastes a little goopy in your mouth. The bottom and top was great, but overall, I wont make it again.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2006
This was so fast, it didnt take close to the time shown. I did pour some terriyaki in a ziploc with the chicken for about 2 hours, as well as cooking fresh bacon and crumbling. Then proceded as the recipe stated. Very good!!

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2006
These were just okay for us. They were light and fluffy but not the best on this site. I used half whole wheat flour, maybe that was the problem? You have to try the Good Old Fashioned Pancakes, they are amazing!!

Cranberry Hootycreeks

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2006
These were very tasty!! I didnt put them in a jar, just made them regularly. For the 5/8 cup, you do 1/2 cup plus a half of a 1/4 measuring cup. I recommend these!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2006
Like banana bread in a muffin. But honestly this was not amazing like I expected. As with quick breads, this was best served the second day, but still, I wont be making it again.

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2006
the reason this was good was how I seasoned my chicken. I browned it with seasoned salt/pepper/garlic powder. But the sauce was just plain. It never got thick. I used fire roasted red peppers from Trader Joes instead of the sun dried tomatoes (what I had on hand), but I cant imagine the taste would have changed enough for me to enjoy the sauce more. Wont be making again.

Brunch on the Bayou

I thought this was tasty, but nothing amazing. I agree on adding the pepperjack cheese to kick it up. Not great reheated and makes a lot, so be sure to make it when you have a crowd.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2006
Finally, the perfect pancake!! My usual has been from Americas Test Kitchens, but this has now replaced it!! Of course I heap the tblsp of sugar to make it extra yummy. But other than that, no changes whatsoever. Make sure the griddle is hot when you put it on to get optimum fluff!!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2006
I was looking for a way to use the yummiest peaches that I bought from Costco. I used them instead of apples in this recipe. Keep the sugar the same, no cutting back like on the apple version. I did cut back on the cinnamon. I also did 1 1/2 on the topping as suggested. Glad I did, could have even possibly doubled it. Turned out great out, will make again.

Wont make again. Nothing special, I have made much better crisps. The topping was dry, so add more butter if you intend to make it.

Lemon Poppy Seed Bread

I went with others and added a total of 3 TBLSP of poppy seeds. I increased the oil to 1 1/4 cup. I also omitted the extract and used the juice and zest of 2 lemons instead. It was wonderful!! With the changes, you will love it!

Easy and Delicious Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2006
We enjoyed this. I too added a bit more chicken. Even after the salt/pepper, it still needed a bit of love. So bring on the garlic powder. Everyone really enjoyed, I will be making it again. Made tons, great for leftovers, served over noodles
