Slow Cooker Lentil and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2005
This was delicious! The only thing I did different was I added a can of stewed tomatoes instead of the tomato sauce. Very, very good. If you like it spicy you could add some hot sauce or a little chili powder. I've turned the AC down so I can pretend it's cold outside. This soup is perfect for that...and healthy too. PS. I cooked it on the stove for 45 minutes instead of using the crock pot. I was hungry.

Chicken Soup With Black Beans and Corn

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
This was great! Rather than make the stock I used 99% FF Chicken broth and chopped up a couple chicken breasts I already had cooked. I halved the recipe since it's just me eating it. I'll take it for lunch tomorrow.

Oven-Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2007
Not bad. It was crunchy. I always bake chicken rather than frying it. So much more healthy. This was good.

Feijoada (Brazilian Black Bean Stew)

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2007
This was really good and it took most of the morning to make it. I had everything on hand for a change. I followed the directions. It is very good over brown rice.

Italian Spaghetti with Ham

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
This was great. I'm on a cholestrol free diet so I used eggbeaters for the eggs. I didn't have any parsley but I did have cilantro and used that instead. I squezed a little fresh lemon over it and it was very tasty. I will definetly make this again. Oh yeah, I used turkey ham which is way less salty and whole wheat thin spagetii.

Crispy Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2008
Great. I'd cook the chicken for 5 minutes per side to make it crispy on high heat. Very good.

It was pretty tasteless. I'd use more spices next time if there is a next time.

Real Southern Cornbread

Reviewed: May 6, 2007
This was really good. Unfortunately it rose a little too high and overflowed the pan a little. Cooked all the way through and was extremely moist inside. I loved it!

Pecan Pumpkin Pie III

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2005
This looks really good. I didn't have or want to use eggs so I used eggbeaters instead. No sour creme so I used peach yogart...all I could find. It is very tasty and like the advertisement said not as overpowering as a regular pecan pie. Kind of light and fluffy. I'd make it again but only if my cholesterol levels go down and I can use real eggs.

Cottage Dill Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2005
I love this bread. Instead of the Dill I used 2 Tbl. of fresh chives. I've gotten rave reviews from all the people with whom I've shared this loaf. Now I have to make another one just for me. Everything has to be at room temp. for the loaf to raise properly.

Made it by the recipe. Didn't care for it but my friend born and bred in Texas loved it. Go figure.

Kathy's Award Winning Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2005
I usually double this when I make it. My friends all love it. Me too. The only other thing I do is I use Shrimp cocktail sauce instead of the ketchup. It seems to add that extra zing.

These were great. I used Horseysauce from Arby's and added a little dried onion to them too. Just right for this Pennsylvania tongue.

Meatballs and Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2007
Amazingly easy and tasty! I used a really big can of mushroom soup, 2 cups sour creme, pepper, 3/4 C water and 1 C white wine. Bought Kroger brand frozen Swedish meatballs (2lbs.) and cooked them in the slow cooker for 4 hours on high. Cooled them off and put in the fridge overnight and did it again tonight. Tomorrow I'll serve them to the folks in my office....if I don't eat them all tonight. Too easy!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2007
#2,637? Well, just had to put my 2 cents worth in. I only had a 2.5 pound roast so I only added one can of soup and followed the rest of the recipe and cooked it on high in the slow cooker for four hours. Really, really good.

Rosemary-Scented Pork Loin Stuffed With Roasted Garlic, Dried Apricots and Cranberries and Port Wine Pan Sauce

This was wonderful. Followed the directions to the letter, for a change and it came out beautiful. I will definetly make this again as I only had a 3.5 pound roast and I've got lots of cranberries and apricots left over.
