Me and my Christmas tree.
About this Cook
My father was the cook when I was growing up. I never thought I was a bit like him but as it turns out...I am. I love to cook and being single with only a dog to appreciate my talents I've been feeding the neighborhood. I have several friends who I call and say I'm cooking, want to come to dinner? They almost always do. It's my way of being creative. Who knew?
My favorite things to cook
I love to make soups and breads. I really like to try new and different recipes every chance I get.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Dad made a mean chili! Before he passed away he gave me the recipe. Mom's specialty is chocolate chip cookies. When I go home to PA she always makes me some.
My cooking triumphs
Cottage cheese and chive bread. Italian white bean soup (got it here) Southwestern Beef Stew Tomatoe Bisque Soup
My cooking tragedies
Birthday Cake (used granulate sugar for the frosting) dummy. Spinach lasagna (didn't rinse it enough) gritty I always learn from my mistakes!

Pasta with Tuna, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Artichoke Hearts, Lemon, and White Wine
I didn't have sun dried tomatoes so I added 1 can of V8 and used diced tomatoes. Instead of the wine I used 1/2 cup of Vodka. It was delicious! I had enough to eat, freeze and gave some away to friends and they all loved it too.

Crispy Fried Chicken
Great. I'd cook the chicken for 5 minutes per side to make it crispy on high heat. Very good.

Parmesan Crusted Salmon
It was good although I expected a little more flavor.
