Cabbage Beef Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2005
This came out really good, my 2 yr old liked it. I gave it 4 stars cause it came out to be more thick than a soup, more like a cabbage stew. But it was still very tasty. Made a lot for leftovers--so I packed it up into small containers (single serving sizes for later use. Yummy!

Pork Chops with Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2005
This was delicious! My toddler gobbled up everything on his plate and asked for more. My hubby (who is the picky eater in the house) actually liked this dish too. And wouldn't mind if it's in our rotation. I served it with some brocolli and it was a great compliment. Thanks for this recipe!

Butter Beef

Like everyone else said....TOO SALTY! I used light margarine, and low sodium onion mix, 1/2 the package, yet still salty. Meat was also dry. So instead of wasting the meat, I gave it a second life by making it into ground beef (grinding it up itnt he blender) and adding a bit of mrs dash and other spices to give it a second life into homemade tacos instead.--Now that was yummy!

Slow Cooker Pork Chops

I am a fan of sauerkraut but this recipe just didn't do it for me. Everything crumbled together and stuck to the sides. The kraut overpowered our very dry chops. Overall a 2 for ease of preparing this meal. We will not be making this in our home anytime soon.

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2005
This recipe was great. My dad absolutely ate it (he's a tough person to try new recipes!). I did follow the other comments for using milk instead of half and half. To cut the amount of fat, I also bought the fat free version of the cream of mushroom soup. I also added in some shredded carrots and fresh mushrooms and garlic. I would say to double the sauce if you like it really saucy but for our family, it was fine. We ate it over angel hair noodles. Any type of pasta or rice will work fine for this recipe! Mahalo (Thanks) for this recipe!

Tofu Parmigiana

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2005
I made this dish on Sunday and my toddler loved it, but husband is the world's pickiest eater and well no dice for him, he ended up making a regular chicken patty. I loved it, I will do this again if I want a break from chicken! very tasty. Also follow the idea of freezing it and dipping in egg instead of water, the texture came out great. Only problem I had though waas it didn't thaw out enough so it was difficult to cut. I guess my freezer is too cold! Other than that this recipe was good. A keeper.

Slow Cooker Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2005
I tried this recipe and was surprised how the cottage cheese tasted great instead of the usual ricotta cheese. I cooked it for only 4 1/2 hrs though and it still crustified and burnt all on the top and bottom. The middle part was edible so we ate that part. My toddler loved it, so I might make it again tweeking the time on it though. This would be a recipe to cook if you're home... so you can occasionally check on it (through the lid). It was good though!

Slow Cooker Beef Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2005
I read reviews from others and used two bouillon cubes along with 2 packs of regular onion soup mix and it came out fine. I also used fresh baby carrots, mushrooms, onions and celery along with 2 canned veggies. I just had to add a little water when I came home, it was thick like a stew. If you prefer it to be a stew then leave as is..otherwise you might have to add a bit of water once it's done cooking and mix well. Other than that, it was great to come home to. My toddler loved it...he wanted seconds! I'll definitely do this one again, with other veggies to experiment with. Thanks for the idea!

Easy Ground Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2005
I read all the reviews and only added 3 beef bouillon cubes. I tasted it after a few hours in the slow cooker and it tasted so bland so I decided to add the rest. Hoping it'd be a good meal, it was way too salty for even myself. My toddler loved it though. My husband did agree with another person who said it tasted like what they had in the military and said the same thing. I'll never make this again unless someone comes up with one that is less salty.
