EAsy to make, it was alright, I think I'll tinker around with different sauces for marinades. Thanks for the idea.

Ok this doesn't look appetizing when you first mix it (and when it's done)... but it's oh so yummy.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2008
very good. Easy to make. I double the batch and store it in a mason jar. Whenever we have tacos, I have my spice made ready to go. I use about 2-3 tbsp after I brown my meat, along with a little water (about 1/4c or 1/3c) to help it all blend in. I brought some leftover meat to our girl's night in and we made nachos. My friends loved the seasoning, saying that it wasn't too salty nor spicy. THANKS!

Baked Pears

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
Love this recipe. I made this for a quick dessert on Christmas day, as well as tonight. I love this simplicity of this recipe, as you could tweak your taste buds. I used Orange marmalade once and tonight, I tried one half with strawberry jam--YUM. Thanks for the recipe, easy to do and my 4 yr old LOVES these pears. *UPDATE* made this recipe three more times, I love this dessert, it's so yummy and healthy too!

Hot Dog Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
I made this with turkey hot dogs and used low sodium canned soup. Added mushrooms and some grn bell peppers for color. I also used whole wheat ziti pasta (that's all I had). Worked out well, I'll try this again. My 4 yr old loved it and said, mmm mommy, this is yummy!

Banana Bread VIII

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
I did not care for this, maybe it was my shortening, who knows. I knew it was bad when my 4 yr old (who eats everything) didn't want any more after I gave him a nibble. I'll never make this again, stick to the egg version. Sorry.

Cream of Celery Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
Followed recipe but added some extra veggies, tons of garlic and stuck my hand held mixture right in the pot to puree all the veggies. Don't seive the veggies, that's the best part for the flavor. I also used the soup for a pork chop recipe the next day (didn't have canned cream of mushroom), and it was very tasty. I have some left in the freezer, not sure if it'll hold, but we'll see. So remember, keep the veggies in it and just use one of those immersion blenders and puree everything right in the pot!

Fried Pork Chop

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2007
Pork chops came out tender, but could've put more seasoning in it. Hubby ate it though, and our 4 yr old. Paired this up with some pasta side dish and apple crumble recipe on this site.

This seemed a bit dry to me. But overall tasted great. I also halved the recipe, didn't have that many apples on hand. This goes great with vanilla ice cream --YUM!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2007
Made this three times so far. First time I doubled the sauce, using only 3/4 cup of the sugar, and baked it. Second time I used the grill (fabulous). Tonight I baked it again, I'd love to try it in the crock pot.

Thai Curry Tofu

BLAND BLAND BLAND. Even after I used more garlic, a hint of garlic salt, seasoned salt and pepper to taste. It was a weird flavor. My 4 yr old (who eats everything), didn't like it. He pushed his plate away and asked for pancakes for dinner instead. Sorry will not be making this again. It's a cheap meal though for those on a budget.

This was easy to make. I threw everything in my crock pot, added some extra spices and let it cook all day. My DH was sick and gulped this down. LOVED IT. Easy to make.

Strawberry Syrup

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
This was good except I think by using frozen diced strawberries, it made more water that probably threw off the consistency with the sugar. So.... this ended up not as thick as I liked but still was yummo! Ate it with pancakes for dinner. Yup breakfast for dinner oh yum!

Stove Top Tofu Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2007
I froze my tofu (been in the freezer for a while). Defrosted it in a pot of boiling water for a few minutes. Took it out and it was a tougher consistency--like grd turkey or beef. Added fresh minced garlic (3 cloves), added some red and green bell peppers with the onions and celery. Didn't have corn on hand. I chopped up some carrots very finely diced and threw that in the pot too. I sauteed all the veggies for a while in some EVOO to get it nice a soft yet crunchy. You don't have to brown the tofu, just mix it spices. I added more chili spice (probably tripled it), added a dash of hot sauce, a dash of garlic powder, freshly ground black pepper and a hint of mrs dash hot and spicy. Didn't want it too spicy but enough flair to go on. Mixed all that up in the tofu. It won't change any color...so if seeing the white bothers you, try marinating it in some tomato sauce or something. I didn't care it was white. Poured the tofu in the pot and let it boil for bit 5-8 min and then simmered. I didn't cook it for the time stating (1 hr). Thought that'd be too long, plus I needed a meal quick. Served this with turkey hotdogs for the family. MMMM mmm mmm . Leftovers the next day are superb! Try this recipe.. simple.
