The busy cook
About this Cook
I'm a busy executive mother, and there are not enough hours in the day. I use this site because the recipes are user friendly and the ingredients are stuff that I might actually have in the house. I love to try out new recipes with the kids so we peruse the site and bookmark recipes we are interested in trying.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook simple, hearty meals. I don't do well with those food network or Emeril recipes that require bat pate, eel liver flambe, or whatever exotic things they call for. I'm too busy to hunt through International food markets or gourmet sections. I just like recipes that have a few items and a few steps and voila! Instant tummy satisfaction!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I like to cook with the kids. I am showing my young teenagers the way of the kitchen and they love to cook the recipes we find on this site.
My cooking triumphs
I think my kid's all time favorite recipes we have tried on here is the cornbread pizza, and spaghetti bake. They can't get enough of these two.
My cooking tragedies
Well, I have burned more than a few chickens and my roasts have come out absolutely bland to where I have to slice them up and fry them up to give them some flavor, but all in all, I try to keep my cooking attempts light and enjoy my new successes and try to learn from my failures! C'est la Vie!

Sausage and Apple Stuffing
I tried this minus the waterchestnut, and added raisins and a little chicken broth & this was such a hit at Thanksgiving, that I'm making it again for Christmas! Very simple to make. Most definitley a new family tradition for us!
