Vietnamese Beef Pho

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2005
This is an excellent recipe. As another user recommended, I found 'pho cubes' at an asian market and use them to make the broth. This makes a huge difference. I also use dried vermicelli noodles instead of rice noodles. I'm not a fan of fish sauce so I omit that.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2005
Very good chili recipe! I left out the green pepper because I didn't have one but I didn't miss it. I also used half the chili powder and it was plenty. I'll be making this again.

Fresh Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2006
This is a great salad. I took it to dinner at a friends house and everyone loved it. I don't care for waterchestnuts so I left them out and I added 1/2 red onion thinly sliced, sliced fresh mushrooms and toasted slivered almonds.

Stuffed Shells III

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2006
The cheese filling is a perfect and very tasty combination. I added about a teaspoon of fresh basil that comes in a jar. Instead of jarred sauce, I used my own homemade leftover spaghetti sauce. Delicious!

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2006
I have made this several times and absolutely love it. I use a combination of sweet, yellow and white onions. I also used red wine instead of sherry. I never knew that restaurant quality French Onion Soup could be so easy to make! This will be a recipe I make over and over again. Love it!

Sausage Jalapeno Poppers

Reviewed: May 24, 2008
Outstanding! I have made these twice now and I should have made more both times. A couple suggestions...definitely precook the bacon before wrapping. I lay each slice out on a cookie sheet and bake in the oven at 400 for 6 minutes. I also add 3 sliced green onions and about 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese to the sausage mixture. I do put them on a rack when cooking and I also use convection baking. Delicious!
