Hamburger Casserole

I like this casserole; I can serve it to my picky husband and he likes it. It is easy to fix. Unlike some, I do not brown the ground beef ahead, just crumble it into the sauce pan. I do have to cook it a bit longer to make sure the potatoes are done.

Potato and Cheese Frittata

What a great basic recipe! You start with this and add what you like. For me, it's bacon! I fried bacon to crispy, cooked the frozen hashbrowns in the fat, and when I poured the eggs in topped with the crumbled bacon. Yummm! Would also be good with red bell pepper and/or mushrooms. Must try that. I've made this several times and like it more each time. Thamks

Creamy Chicken Casserole

This is pretty good! I tried it because it is so simple. I made it exactly as the recipe said; it was a bit dry and needed salt. Next time I added a can of cream of celery soup and it was great! My Mom liked it and my picky husband did too. I asked him what it needed and he said, "Nothing!" Great stuff. Thanks

Foolproof Rib Roast

Oooh yeah, Babe! This was the best prime rib I've ever had--and this was the first time I ever made it. Pat, my son-in-law (Pat's mushroom saute), said the same thing. I used the spices as a rub, using a little rosemary, wrapped it in plastic wrap overnight, and fixed it today for dinner. I moistened it a bit with evoo and used the beef broth when I turned the oven back on so I would have some jus for dipping. It was sooo good. We'll have sandwiches for supper.

Maple Teriyaki Salmon Barbeque

This was good. I like the combination of maple and salmon very much. I used my g.f.grill which is new, and cooked it a hair too long. But the flavors came through well. I'll fix it again.

Lemon Pepper Dill Fish

I tend to agree that fish is best breaded and fried, but with diabetes and high cholesterol that isn't usually an option. I read the reviews, paid attention, and put this in the oven at 375 for 15-20 minutes. Picky Husband had a second helping. My only complaint, too much butter. Next time I will use less.

Italian Fish Fillets

This was ok. Tasted all right, but too much sauce for the amount of fish. I did, however save the sauce and use it for a soup base later, and that was good. I'll try it again, and mess with it a little.

Soy Garlic Steak

Oooh, yeah, Babe! Thank you Grace! Easy marinade to make, easy to work with, and Yummm. Husband likes less garlic than I, so I make it with less, still good. Used Chuck eye. Melt in your mouth is right. It's a keeper!

Chinese-Style Cheeseburgers

I thought this was good. My picky husband said it was ok. I cubed the cheese very, very small and added an egg, as some had said to do. I used whatever mustard I had. My little grocery store didn't have chili sauce, so I bought mild taco sauce. And, I was thinking about a different recipe and added some nutmeg. I fried it in a non-stick pan. Because of the egg it browned well. I'll fix it again.

Mandarin Almond Salad

I liked this salad, except that I have a digestive problem with fresh onion--and this disagreed with me. The dressing was wonderful, and I really liked the addition of the sugared almonds. I will make it again, but touch it up with onion salt instead of raw onion.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

This is yummy. No, it's not dinner party fare, but it's perfect for a good family meal. My Mom has dentures and needs soft, chewable meat, and this is it! My picky husband eats seconds. I could just binge on the gravy. A few thoughts. I found the original recipe a bit thin, so I doubled the meat and thickened it a bit. I recommend thickening with corn starch rather than flour, because flour dims the sharp flavor. I also served it over mashed potatoes the second time and my husband liked it better than with noodles. Mmmm. I'll serve this again, and soon.

Very Berry Cheesecake

I love this cheesecake. I use a frozen berry blend (strawberries, blueberries, red raspberries, and blackberries), buying two bags. I thaw them, put one in the dessert, following the recipe, and mix the other with sugar for topping. Mmmmm.

Barley Mushroom Risotto

This was good. I thought the barley was a little chewy, but I think I may have had too little broth by the time I got it all added in. I made it while I cooked the rest of my meal, so I wasn't just standing around cooking barley. I'll probably fix it again, but I'll play with it a bit to add flavor.

Lemon Pepper Green Beans

Yumm. I really like this dish. It's easy to make and adds zest to any meal. Yet not so much zest that my husband who doesn't care for spicy food won't eat it. I lessen the amount of lemon-pepper some, because I can always add more.

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Chicken Cashew Salad

Yes! I just took this to a community brunch and got compliments galore, and several requests for the recipe. It tastes great. It looks a little bland, because there is no bright color, so maybe the red onion would be a good idea, but other than that I wouldn't change a thing. Thanks, Mary.

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

This is yummy! I did as one review suggested and used a little less butter, but it seemed a bit dry, so will go with the full 1/2 cup. I also added 1/4 cup shredded co-jack. My husband said, "No cheese!" My daughter said, "Yes, cheese!" I will make it again. Thanks, Ruthie!

Cheeseburger Soup I

I served this soup when all my children were home. They ate it up! But, it needs more cheese. I put grated cheese on the table and they added quite a bit individually. I will also put more hamburger into it for a meatier flavor.

Skillet Chops with Mushroom Gravy

My husband is a picky eater who doesn't care for mushroom soup at all. He likes this recipe. Goes well with mashed potatoes. Tastes good warmed over. Good stuff!
