Wagon Train Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
Daughter loved it. Husband said it was pretty good. I used 4 cups egg noodles and 1lb ground beef, did not measure cheese just added. I doubled all ingredients for the meat except the salt. I did not have seasoned breadcrumbs so I used Planko and added about 1tsp of Italian seasoning. Also used about 1tbs of garlic because we like it

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2008
I makes this for my husband and he loves it. My 3 year old daughter will also eat more than I do and eat it for days at a time. I follow the recipe except I add minced garlic and double the amount needed.I also use one pound sausage and one pound ground beef (at least 90/10) I also somtimes use the flavored tomato sauces. My ricotta mixture is 2/3 ricotta and 1/3 cottage cheese. I have used both sliced and shredd mozz, when using shredd mozz I need a lot more because I am very liberal in shaking it on. I have tried the soaking the noodles and it worked the first time but the 3 times since then noodles did not turn out. I now buy oven ready noodles and it turns out much better, we like slightly harder noodle.

Raspberry Cup Cakes

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2008
Very easy, made in 5oz plastic cups to serve as a dessert. Quick and easy to assemble. If making cups do not pack graham cracker into bottoms hard to get out. In the cup put graham cracker mix, some raspberry sauce, cream cheese mixture and froze. Before serving spinkled top with graham cracker crumbs (plain) then put on a dollop of whip cream and spooned more raspberries over the top. Agree with some other revies that less condensed milk and more cream cheese could be used. Personal preference as to if you prefer the taste of condensed milk more than cream cheese.

New Potatoes with Caper Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2008
Very easy recipe resulting in an extraordinary potatoe. I made this recipe for a meal of 40 people (50th anniversary meal), I used measurements for 50 servings, used a slight amount of extra parmesan because it was already grated. We had several people ask for the recipe and many more compliment on the potatoes - there were more compliments on the potatoes then the prime rib that was also served. Only drawback was due to such a big pot of potatoes it was somewhat difficult to coat and some of the potatoes turned into almost mashed. (this is only because some of the potatoes were cut in half/quarters, whole potato would not have that problem) Leftover potatoes were very good the next morning as fried potatoes.

Raspberry White Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2008
Made this for a dinner party and everyone said it was very good. able to I made parfait in crystal glasses so looked very elegant. I was only able to do 5 glasses and ran out of sauce so was unable to drizzle any over the top. I had no problems with the frozen raspberries being to sour.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
I made this for my husband to take into work. Everybody said it was very good. Made it in the slow cooker on low for 8 hours. I used 3lbs ground beef and added more tomato juice. I followed some other reviews and used one can crushed tomatoes in place of some of the tomato juice, did not seem to soupy so will probably make with all tomato juice next time. Also added one can of black beans. I used chipolte chili powder in place of the cayenne so it definetly would not be to spicy, from what I tasted did not seem overly spicy so will use the cayenne pepper next time. I also always use a six pepper blend in place of black pepper. Reading the recipe now I also see I forgot the cumin. I also added some minced garlic since my husband and I like garlic.

Strawberry Delight Dessert Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2005
Used a premade graham cracker crust and strawberry cool whip. Made for dessert on Football Sunday, I think everybody had at least 2 pieces. Only used one box of pudding since I was put it in graham cracker pie crust, everything else I did the same.

Tantalizingly Tangy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2005
Very good and easy to make. My first try at making meatloaf. After reading some of the reviews I tried it with the Italian Bread crumbs. Meatloaf was nice and moist. Only thing I did not like was the pineapple chunks, I was not able to fine pineapple preserves, just pineapple ice cream topping. My husband also thought the sauce was a little sweet but the meat was very good.

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2005
Update it has been a few years since I had made this and made it last weekend at a baking party. Everyone could not stop eating it instead of putting it in gift bags and everyone wanted the recipe. I use butter instead of Margarine and with use 1/2 cup air popped popcorn per single recipe. Very good and not that hard to make. I made it with sunflower seeds. Some people really liked the different flavor the sunflower seeds made and some people just liked the popcorn.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Secret Recipe

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2005
Thought it was very good. Actually my first time ever making mashed potatoes, and they turned out very good. I used a little extra romano to make cheesier potatoes. I used minced garlic from the store and thought it turned out fine. There would be little bursts of garlic in your mouth every once in awhile.

Honey Glazed Pea Pods and Carrots

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2005
Made this for an anniversary dinner with steak. Thought it was very good. I really liked the honey taste on the veggies. I used frozen peas and carrots and they still turned out yummy. I also added some sliced orange peppers because my husband and I like them. I think I used more honey than the recipe called for. I just free poured it until I thought it looked like everything would get coated.

Blue Cheese Crusted Filet Mignon with Port Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2005
I made this for my husband on our anniversary. He gave it 5 stars. Thought it was very tasty. I didn't strain the sauce and used dried thyme and threw in some orange pepper and thought it came out wonderfully. I also added some Romano to the blue cheese and thought that was very yummy. I personally do not like steak and hate port. But I think I would have to give this recipe 5 stars myself for making me finish my steak. :) Only thing that didn't not turn out the best is I cooked it for to long so it was a little bit more done than medium but the sauce still added plenty of juice. We saved the leftover sauce to go on chicken later this week. :)
