I went to cooking school my junior and seinor years of high school, got a certificate for 1054 hours. i have also been studying under my dad, a chef, since i was 12, and working in kitchens, both big and small since I was 15 years old. I no longer cook professionally. Im a mother to 2 beautiful daughters and wife to a loving husband. I still love cooking, but hate doing the dishes!
My favorite things to cook
Anything my husband and kids will eat! I love to try new recipies, especially when were running low in the fridge and im out of ideas!
My favorite family cooking traditions
making the lasagna and bread my mom taught me how to make, and using the everyday and often unique cooking methods my father taught me.
My cooking triumphs
Getting a silver medal in garde manger (knife skills) in a fha/hero cooking competetion, for my watermellon wishing well and kiwi song bird! And getting a partial scholorship to Johnson and wales univ. for my cold pork salad recipe. Also completing the my beginning culinary traning at Auburn Career Center, in Concord Twp. Ohio.
My cooking tragedies
I once made tuna casserole that SO BAD even the raccoons ,in my parents back yard, wouldn't eat!
